I found out that debranding erases your phonebook and sms, there i a possibility that it won't erase your pictures, but I wouldn't risk it.

How do you back up your address book? I don't have Microsoft Office so its not like I can transfer the address book there. Is there another way of doing it?

Luckily in w810, u can backup your address book to memory card 🙂 i tested it and it works.

- Backup to MS

I think another limitation that Cingular phone has is the flash disable so i can't get the horizontal scrolling on equalizer theme. maybe some 1 can confirm/deny.

Thanks for the info. Have you settled on a debranding web site? I kinda like wotanserver.com except that some of their instructions seem a little difficult to understand. At one point in the flashing process they tell you to hold down the "c" button but don't tell you when to let go of it. Have you or any of your friends debranded yet?

I personally don't know any 1 who has debranded. I am thinking of wotanserver also, because their instructions seemed easier to understand than davinci and they had screenshots also, plus its like 4$ cheaper (not that it matters).

When are you planning on doing it?

I'd like to do this by this same time next week. I finally saw when to let go of the "c" button. It was there the whole time. I'm still trying to convince myself that this is the best thing to do for the best W810i experience. What benefits are driving you to do this? For me, it's the promise of better bluetooth quality connections, preventing accidental internet sessions, etc.

If I do it it'll be to get the following (in the order of priority)

- OTA updates
- flash based themes
- shutter sound
- full mp3 ringtone

Have you guys unbranded yet?

I tried to last night from the Wotan software, but it wasn't reading my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can backup your address book to an old phone too. I did that with my nokia 6230. I copied all my W810's number's onto my SIM card, then copied all the numbers onto my old phone's memory.
