W810i user has a few questions.
i used to have the w600,and the t637 before that, and both phones had a feature that you could set so that the screen saver was the time. does anyone know if the w810i has this feature? i have looked and cant find the setting.
also does anyone know if they make an adapter like they did for t637. it plugged into the bottom of the cell, and it let you use your own eab bud and head phones. what they have is that long cord that gets tangled up.
Does any one have any cool tips on for this cell?
Thanks for any help anyone may have.

The w810 doesn't show the clock when in standby. You can force the clock to appear by pressing the volume keys. (keys on the side, right)
My w810 came with the adapter for normal headphones. Did your w810 not? (or is cingular not packaging them?)
It looks like this: http://howard.djdanska.com/w810.jpg

my w810 came with the cd, the headphones, which i dont use, since i have a pair or shure E4c, but it sucks because you can't plug the cord into the phone, you have to use the long cord with the mic on it, it also came with the usb cable, and the mic cable. what and how are there other types of packaging for the phone?
i wonder why they changed the time option, must be for the battery saver.
thanks for the tip. any others for this phone?

sorry i thought you asked if it came with headphones? it did come with headphones, and the long corded adapter, for the t637 they had a little adapter that you would use for headphones, that DIDN'T have a 2 and a half foot cord attached to it.
Thanks again.

I had a Sony Ericsson W600 prior to this one ane thought -- oh cool, I am going to upgrade.
Well I bought the Sony Ericsson W810 and it has all the features of my old phone with the added feature of an expandable chip.
After buying the phone I discovered the following:
1. The feature of being able to assign an MP3 as a ring tone has been severly limited, so severe it is not even worth saying you can do it. According to Sony Ericsson, this was a feature limitation requested by Cingular to curb illegal MP3 sharing. Someone tell me, how is limiting the size (which is the way they limit it) of the MP3 going to stop me from sharing ALL THE OTHER MP3s on my phone with others? I can send any song I want to any MP3 capable phone I want ...

You can either buy the phone unlocked and you wont have the above mentioned limitations OR spend about $12 and have your Cingular branded w810 unbranded and again you will not have the limitations you just mentioned.

The w810 can change profiles with the headsets. It was weird on my w810 (non cingular). Plug in the handset. (or whatever), go to profiles, View and edit the handset one. At the bottom, choose "accessories", Choose the proper one.
Go back to normal and unplug the headset. Now just plug in the headset. It should change.
