anyone else have the problem of the phone (6126-cingular) blacking out when you try to send pics or vids?

No. I have not had that problem, but I have not tried to send pictures and videos, either. My Nokia 6126, which is with Cingular, most likely has a problem with the operating sytem. I was listening to the pre-loaded ringtones that came with my phone, and the phone froze. It also made a buzzing noise one time when I was pressing too many buttons.

i have the same issue, luckily i work at a call center and i have the WARRENTY AND EXCHANGE DEPARTMENT right across the breakroom and they said its a warrenty issue and they can fix through an over the air update, that took about 45minutes to do 30seconds worth of work, so make sure you go thru warranty and not customer care!!!!

thanks for the reply pennyless! how do i get to the warranty dept? is it the cingular warranty dept or the nokia warranty dept? is there an 800 number i can call? i'm going to my cingular rep tomorrow. if they can fix the pic problem, then i am going to get another 6126 for myself! (i got the first one for my wife.)
oh as for the earpiece volume... it's just fine. not like the 6102s. good vollume on the earpiece and the speaker.
like nokiagoth, i recommend this phone as the closest thing to the elusive n75.

well i did it. i got one too. my wife kept showing off her 6126 to me until i couldnt take it anymore. i got her mms sending fixed too. all it took was a reset of the handset.
so i'm happy. the phone is great....only the n75 will make me want a new phone right now!

so far the reception seems fine to me. i would say it seems SLIGHTLY weaker than my 6102i, but still in the great category.

Help you all seem very helpful. I to am experiencing the same problem with the phone powering off, yet when I read the instructions as to take the batter out and wait thirty sec. well, that did not work. What shall I do? I did not get the number for warranty. Your help is greatly needed.

my phone was not completely shutting off, it was just blacking out and then going back to the main menu screen anytime that i tried to send a picture. i did a "reset to factory setting" and that did the trick.

I thought of doing that, however, I was worried that everything I downloaded was going to be deleted. Everything is still on my phone. Again thanks. I was getting upset that I might have to return it. I really like the phone. I replaced my Motorola V365.
