Nokia 6126 / 6131 / 6133
Nokia 6126 EDGE problem
I am using the 6126 with cingular and I can't seem to get and Edge service. All I have is the little "g" icon on my screen. Anyone else have this issue? I know I have edge service in my area because I have had plenty of other phones that had no problem getting it....

I figured this out.
I'm having the same bullshit issue with T-Mobile. They advertise the phone as an Edge phone, but then disable it so we can only use GRRS.
1 solution would be to have the phone flashed.
Another would be to start complaining and don't stop.

No, they don't disable Edge, thy just didn't make this phone with an E icon for Edge, so it will always show a G. Don't know why they did that, but don't worry. You are using Edge. One way I know that is true is that in my house I can only get one bar of reception and all of my other non Edge phones I couldn't use the internet at all and my Edge phones I could. I can definitely use the internet on my 6126 with only one bar of reception.
