Per my very reputable source, this phone --originally scheduled for a July 5 release-- has now had its release date pushed back to the first week of August.

I just spoke to a manager at my local cingular store(in Washington State), he said they have a tentative release date for July 14th w/ a chance of a week or so delay, and that it will be $79 w/ a 2 year agreement. He said to call back later this week to get the actual release date, but as of now I'm pretty anxious for the 14th and I've also heard rumors of the 17th so either way about a week or so.
...
The first week of August is the correct launch.
...
I stopped into my local cingular store today and spoke with the manager.
He said the 6126 IS on the list of phones that can be ordered as of tomorrow.
He indicated that if they DID actually get to order them tomorrow they would be available Monday 7/17.
He is supposed to call me tomorrow and let me know if the phone will be able to be ordered tomorrow.
I'll keep everyone posted!

thats sick- i cant wait

Wherever/whomever you got your info from I think the 1st week of August is the most correct/likely. Today I checked with Cingular via phone, my local stores and online today...nothing 😢 . Two stores said their listing had the phone coming out in early June so something is going on that is continually delaying the release of this phone. The anticipation for this phone has my stomach in knots!
...
apparently none of these stores are on the same page.
I stopped into another store today and they said it is on the order sheet for TODAY but wasn't going to be available until AUGUST 10TH
I know the stores only give the info they have, but come ON cingular!
get your head out of your ass!

That's nothing. I call some of the stores here in Houston and the sales reps did not even realize this phone exists!! Really, I know more about these phones than some sales reps in these stores (not just Cingular stores, but others too, i.e. VZW, T-Mobile, etc. It's a joke the quality of some of the sales reps. wireless companies are hiring.....

I worked for AT&T Wireless for 3 years before it was acquired by Cingular. I worked as a retail sales specialist and if you had asked me the question of "When is the Nokia 6126 coming?", most likely I would have had an answer for you. I took pride in researching things for my customers and having the answers for their questions. I am utterly shocked at the lack of knowledge some of these new reps have. One Cingular rep told me that Nokia didn't make that model phone. I told him to go to Nokiausa.com and look it up. What happened to going the extra mile and being up on your game? I think it is safe to say that real customer service is a thing of the past.

I called a store today and they said that it was going to be launched with their back to school specials. It's sounding like the August 17 date that someone got is going to be a more accurate date than any. We will just have to wait and see for sure. Oh but I wish it would just get here yesterday. It looks awsome and I have been waiting forever for the right Nokia flip phone to come out and I think I have found it.

Bella172,
I agree 100% with your message. Seems like some reps just don't want to go the extra mile and research what's out there and be proactive. With websites like this and others, there is so much information out there that the general public does not know about and if I was a rep. I would go to these sites and be ahead of the curve. Know what I mean?
Thanks,

so i guess ill just wait untill aug 17 then?

I spoke with my Nokia reps today and they informed the the phone had to be sent back for a new Firmware Update. They didn't give me a new release date. They just said it'd be delayed. I'm in Philly, if it matters.

At this rate... by the time Cingular releases 6126, the rest of the world will be using next generation 6126/6131/6133. Playing the devil's advocate for a moment, I understand why Cingular wants to iron out as many bugs as possible. Cingular must carry the burden of buggy phone and lower support means higher profit. That said, Cingular's current phone line-up is very weak and it must expedite the approval/testing of "hot phones" such as 6126, Motorola RAZR V3i, and Sony Ericsson W810i. Thanks for the update and here's hoping 6126 will see the light of day in August.

...the Phonescoop front page noted that Yahoo! Go mobile is being included on many Cingular handsets, so maybe this is one of them & had to get a fresh set of software so that it could figure into Cingular's plans...... ? its a possibility.
Thinking positively.

According to sources at Howardforums.com it is on the Back to School advertising. IMO that would mean release mid-August.
...
True....it is. It was also on the Summer Promo POP as well, 2 months ago. We have the POP from when we did our 'refresh' with 6126 posters. I'd like to see it in august...my 6682 is getting old....
...
...i re-read the phonescoop front page, & noticed that i missed that that article says Moto....
my appologies... i must read more accurately.
sorry.

I agree, Cingular's lineup currently sucks. I just got a phone on my plan and am still within the 30 day exchange window. If I upgrade to a phone I like better than the one I have now, does anyone know if I will get another 30 days? If so, I may exchange at the end of my 30 day eval (July 29th) for my current phone and hope the 6126 comes out before that 30 days runs out.
...
The 30 days starts from the date you purchased the original phone even if you exchange it for a different model.
