Nokia synch
eo500Aug 23, 2006, 3:28 PM
I am looking to buy a new phone, and one of the major requirements is that it be able to synch the calendar and contacts with MS Outlook. Does anyone know how the Nokia software compares to the Sony/Ericson z520 or the Motorola software? Thanks

Nokia software is one of the best and easiest to use. The 6126 has been canceled from Cingular's line up and it does not look like any other major carrier will carry it, so if I were you I'd look for a different Nokia phone.

Thanks, I was looking at the Nokia 6103, but I've heard nightmares about the headset volume and slow menues. If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

The only problem with the headset volume on the 6103 is that people hold it up to the wrong part of their ear causing the speaker hole to be covered up. Its just a little hole in an awkward place, you have to hold it lower than other flip phones.

I've been using Nokia's phone suite and it works very well with MS Outlook 2003 (and probably every other version). I also run a free, little program called clickyes from contextmagic.com so that I don't have to confirm the phone's access to Outlook everytime I sync (Outlook is a pain in the ass). As it's set up now, if my phone is on when my computer comes on, it will find it and sync my calendar, contacts, notes, and tasks. Nokia's suite also looks to support SyncML though I haven't yet tried it.
