Keyboard/Numbers Backlit?
mikebOct 17, 2006, 10:45 AM
Is there any backlighting on the keypad/numbers on this phone?
If not, does the display light them up enough to dial in the dark?
Thanks!

The keys are indeed back-lit. Very bright too. Add in the main display shining on them, and I've never had a problem finding my way around in the dark.

Just thought I'd add: there is a light sensor and so by default the keys only light up when you are in a dark environment. Somewhere I recall a menu setting to disable the sensor though if you want.

Thanks for the added info. I was in the store the other day looking at this phone and didn't remember there being any backlight. After recieving hexydes response I searched the web and found a review of the phone that indicated it was sensor activated.
Thanks again.

You do have to be in almost pitch darkness for the feature to kick in.

The keyboard is backlit. There is a sensor on the lower left (underneath the "*") that senses darkness and turns on the back lights. You can also go into the "Power Management" option of the "Settings" function to change that to always turn the lights on whenever you touch a key (set "Light Sensor Enable" to "OFF") - something I ended up doing because the sensor is not sensitive enough and I often ended up covering the sensor with my thumb to get it turned on when needed.
