Tried buying this at full retail, Verizon rep. says not eligible for rebate
I spoke to Verizon customer service tonight to get a price on this phone at full retail since I can't yet upgrade. The rep. told me the price was $199. I asked if there was a rebate, he told me yes but I wasn't eligible for it since I wasn't buying the phone as an upgrade. That doesn't sound right to me. Anyone know if this info. is correct? Thanks.

That is correct, kind of. Supposedly you are not supposed to get a rebate if you pay full retail, and therefore they will not give you the rebate form. BUT, you can just go on the Verizon site to the rebate section; http://www.verizonwirelessrebates.com/index.a sp, click on "find and complete your rebate form", fill in the info, print when done, send it in to the address provided with receipt and entire white box with UPC info from phone box and you will get your rebate.

It differs from store to store, at our store we give rebates on 2 year upgrades out-rights and 2 year activations. It's mostly a policy thing. It also will depend on which distributer the phones come from. We get many of ours from Brightstar which offers their own rebates, so if you got a brightstar phone and went online to print the rebate form and sent it in you wouldn't get any rebate because verizon wasn't offering a rebate on that esn/upc. It just varies from store to store etc. I'd say go into a store and ask. Hope that helps
