I read somewhere that verizon might change the NE2 to NE1 if anyone else has herd about that please let me know what uve herd.
The reason i want to know is because right now i got the LGVX6000(I no its an old phone) but im going to upgrade to either the LGVX9800 or A930 but if verizon changes the NE2 to NE1 then ill just get the A930 for free and in a year get the A990 when it goes down in price beacause im not about to pay 250 for a new phone.
Any info would be helpful, so please let me know.

From what i been told it is not changing to NE1 but they are cutting the NE2 cost down to $50 instead of $100 from here on out. You are eligable to get promotional price with teh NE2 after 12 months but you dont get teh $100 or $50 bakc ... maybe that is what u were mixing up.. Then again I could be wrong..
hope this helps

Well to put the records straight, this is from the news release. The New every 2 will still be there and you will het $100 for a new phone. what they are changing is the early termination fee will be prorated according to how much time is left on your contract. They also added that for people with plans of $50 or more can get a new phone at the 2 year price. hope this helps the info is under news in phonescoop

Ok im still a little confused so...
- NE2 will still be there and you will get 100 off a new phone after 22 months
- Early termination fee depends on how much time left on your contract
- For people that will get a plan at more than $50 a month then they will get their new phone at two year contract price (But then there would be no point of getting a 2 year contract because most plans are over $50 monthly so you might as well get a one year contract incase you want to change service later right?)
Are these 3 bullets correct or am i mistaken?

NE2 has been reduced to 50 dollars every 22 months for price plans below 79.99. 79.99 and up will still receive the 100 dollar credit

Might as well just sign 1 year contracts and get the promo price every 10 months. The 50 bucks now isn't worth it anymore to keep a phone for 2 years. You are saving the 50 bucks anways after the one with the new promo pricing so basically really aren't gaining much. I will stick to one year contracts from now on.

Finally the right answer, you win!!

I don't what the right answer is everyone says something different. If you want to read it for yourself go to the NEWS section and find the article, I think NE2 will still be around for $100.

NE2 will NOT be 100 dollars. It will ONLY be 100 dollars IF your monthly plan is HIGHER THAN 79.99 or higher.
79.99 dollars and high = 100.00 dollars NE2
34.99 to 79.98 = 50 Dollars NE2
THIS RIGHT OFF VZW SITE: If you fall within the 34.99 to 79.98 you might as well stick with one year contracts.
I have the Family Share Plan 69.99 dollars a month so I would now only qualify for 50 bucks NE2.
How do you sign up for New Every Two?
You are automatically enrolled in our New Every Two program when you sign up for a two-year agreement on a calling plan with a monthly access of $34.99 or higher. If you maintain service on a calling plan of $34.99 or higher and fulfill your two-year term, you will qualify for a free phone. If yo...

I Concur. The new ever two has changed, I am looking at the email printout right now. If your price plan is 79.99 or higher, your new every 2 remains the same, a $100 credit. However, if your price plan is below 79.99, you are only offered a $50 credit. This took effect as of Feb 1 2006. Those who had new every 2's coming will be grandfathered in and still receive their $100 credit, however, when you re-up for the next 2 yrs, your next new every 2 will be only a $50 credit. The new format is indeed called a "Tiered New Every 2"

The real drag is I want to cash in on the NE2, but then go year to year since NE2 is not worth it anymore. It's best just to watch for a deal.
But to get your previous NE2 $100, you need to sign up for an additional 2 years. If you do that you don't qualify for new customer price after the 10 months. A bit of a trap for those in NE2. To get out you loose $100. at least this year.

Well usually when companys make upgrades its to make something better, i guess verizon is one of those that change for the worst.
...
Change for the worse, maybe in your eyes. Quite honestly I'm not sure why anyone would want to sign a two year contract and be locked into the same phone (with the exception of purchasing at retail) for 22 months. Typically when you sign a 1 year contract the phone is $50 more compared to the 2 year contract. Personally I would rather forget about the NE2 credit, pay an additional $50 for a phone, knowing that I can get a new one in 10 months.
There are so many people out there who don't even know the NE2 exists. In fact, I've heard of reps simply not putting it onto the account to begin with. In my eyes the change in the NE2 policy is to reward those who spend more, personally i'm on the 39.99 AC plan, yeah my NE2 is affected, am ...

Very true and if i could i wouldnt get another two year contract beacuse i no its a waist but since i am qualified for the NE2 discount right now the only way i would get 100 credit off is if i start another 2 year contract which completely sucks because now it is way better to only get a one year contract so im upset.

also i dont think anyone is considering the fact that 1 year pricing is 50 dollars more then the 2 year price. so if you just sing the one year cust you are mad about 'losing' the 100 dollar credit then think about it this way. if you sign a two year and get your 50 dollar creit then you are actually getting 100 dollars cheaper then if you just sign the one year, pay 50 dollars more for the phone and in turn forfeit that extra 50 dollar credit. and besides most people with the 100 dollar ne2 credit rarely ever use it all anyways because it is up to 100 dollars so if the phone you want is going for 99.99 and there is a 50 dollar rebate you get it for 50 dollars not 0. and you dont get to use ne2 towards accessories. thats my two cents anyway
