the SCH A990 vs. the Chocolate
I'm not a huge "phone person", I typically get about 1 phone a year and primarily use it only for making calls, sending texts, music, and pictures.
I recently got the Chocolate and have been mildly happy with it but I was just curious as to how people felt the Samsung SCH A990 compared to it. My return window is closing fast so I have to decide if I am going to keep the Chocolate or return it and pick up the Samsung.
I have to say the prospect of a 3.2 megapixel camera is sexy. How is the interface? I have to tell you, this chocolate's navagation system is getting on my friggin nerves.
My last phone was a motorola v710 that I was pretty happy with sans the missing Bluetooth features, I mean.

I was going to put up The Chocolate vs. Sasmung SCH-a990 but i decided not to. This phone menu navigation is easy to use. Has better stereo speakers (dual). Can't play mp3's but can play wma's. This phone is better than the chocolate!!

I agree with the response above. The LG is all about style. Unfortunately it also uses that shiny glossy surface which will make any little scratch or fingerprint stand out. The slide feature is cool but also means the nice qvga screen is always exposed and very easily scratched. The interface is very straightforward if you can tolerate the verizon UI which is fine, and a big plus is not having to deal with oversensitive or undersensitive touch keys that I am reading alot of complaining about. I could not be happier with my A990 and I finally found a phone worth keeping until my ne2 comes up about 20 months from now.

Im so glad 2 be hearing good things about this phone...I only played with it once since my Nokia 6256i has been replaced once I had issues with it and I got the new one a month ago..The first one I got in March..I was getting complaints so I called verizon and told them I dint want another replacement and 2 give me another phone..So I picked this one based on what I liked when looking at it..A lil 2 many features 4 me but I only payed the dif from what the Nokia cost..I hope I made a good choice by getting the samsung a990..I dint like the latest Nokia they have either....I went with the latest and expensive one..lol It will arrive in a couple days..Can sum1 assure me I made a good choice? Thanks...

That is for you to decide. The 990 is currently the most expensive true phone offered(and actually costs more than some PDA's)

Ok..Thanks.I just came home from work and it was waiting 4 me on my counter..Im gonna charge it and take it in 2 activate it first thing 2morrow..I dint pay the full price cuz of my issues with the last phone..I just payed the dif which was like 350 with the tax..So im hoping it works out better then the last phone..(Nokia 6256i) ugggh

I had a similar choice, except it was whether to get this or wait for the 9900/8600. The Chocolate is awful. I was excited for it to come out, thinking wow maybe verizon is finally getting its act together and is going to come out with some REALLY cool feature rich phones. I was wrong. The display is impossible to see in sunlight and gets scratched and fingerprinted far too easily. The touch buttons...ew.
The a990 is the coolest phone I have ever seen, and packs tons of features into a small, stylish phone that is ALMOST perfect.
