Sharp Hiptop 3 / Sidekick 3

Hi, if i purchase the sk3 in replacement of SLR, do i have to subscribe to the unlimited internet, aol, textmessaging, and such, for 30 dollar a month to actually use the phone?

Cause i don't need the internet, and i can pay for textmessaging, and a must have mp3 player.
