Palm Treo 700p

I just bought a Treo 700p and am having problems syncing it with my Mac Powerbook. I am running OS 10.3.9.

When I try to sync the phone I get a message:
Conduit Manager file is Busy

From the very first time I installed the software and tried to sync the phone I received this message.

I do not think it is the phone itself because this is the second 700 I got. The first one had to be returned due to it not being able to connect to the internet. Yet, I kept getting the same message with the first 700 I had as well.

I have contacted Palm and spent 2 hours on the phone trying to troubleshoot the issue, but they have no answers and are supposed to get back to me.

Although I absolutely love the Q's form factor I cannot seem to get comfortable with the navigational requirements versus my Treo 650. I think the Q is a great device but unfortunately, as a treo user, I have not been able to turn the corner. I have a like new Q I would consider trading for a VZN Treo 700p.

i am sure that if I had the Q first that i wouldn't be complaining so please forgive me for those that are Q fans - I mean no disrespect. i simply had to conduct my due diligence and see if indeed the Q would fit my needs. Thus far, form factor as I thought would be, is not my major issue. The forthcoming Treo 680 and 750 are interetsing yet retain some bulk. The touch screen and battery is the major culprit I believe.

does the treo 700 easily sync with mac?

Can you get RSS feeds on the 700P? If so, is there also some sort of "today screen" that can display the RSS feeds and calendars, messages, missed calls etc?

I started off with the 700W...After a few months I was tired of the locking up issues and got VZW to replace it with a 700P...I've had this 700P for a week now and it's restarted for no apparent reason twice and the email is not nearly as robust/capable as the 700W.

So, now I'm looking at the blackberries. My biggest concerns:

Use is as a modem for a laptop?

Signal strength (700's were best for PDA's that I've ever seen)???

Battery life, stats show the blackberry is worse than the 700's?

Contacts, need ability to store at least 1,000 and need the ability for it to create a new contact from a number that called me?

Should I wait (is the Pearl coming out on VZW?)?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

Hope this info is useful. Recently upgraded from 650 to 700P thru insurance and have Verizon. I have been using the 700 for a few weeks.
The volume on the 700 is improved, as is the clarity. Coverage is a little better. Some helpful changes. The phone vibrates to confirm the ringer has been muted. You can easily reply via a text message if you are not able to accept a call. I was never able to really access info on the web with the 650. I can on the 700 if I have a little time on spare. Do not expect blazing speeds. Picture messaging is easier.

A few of the pics I have taken did not capture properly. Black "feedback" was throughout sections of the pics. Also the IR port for beaming info between both units gave me trouble....

So, after being an avid supporter of the 700W, I myself am finally sick of the lockups/freezes etc. VZW replaced the 700W 3 times, I then did a little math for them (what I spend every month with them, I use the phone a LOT) and now they are sending me a 700P to replace my 700W.

A few things I am worried about. I tried the 650's from VZW & Cingular when they were the thing to get for smartphones, NEITHER worked well as a cell phone *first* PDA 2nd which is what I need. Then the 700W came out, palm sent me a free one for trial use as I was the systems admin for the company I worked for, they were trying to sell us on them for corp use. I LOVED IT because it worked AWESOME as a phone first and was a pretty good PDA.

My significant other is debating getting a treo 700x (p or w) on Verizon but she needs to be able to use her company email account (exchange 2003) for her own email, calendar, contacts etc as well as her bosses calendar also on exchange as she's an assistant to the CEO and needs access to his calendar as well. Is this possible on the 700x (p or w) and if so, how?

Since the Treo 700W and 700P are identical as far as hardware is concerned, shouldn't it then be possible to load the 700P OS on a 700W turning it into a 700P and vice versa?

Just getting ticked off at the problems I've had with my 1st, 2nd & 3rd 700W and VZW wont swap it for a 700P.

I currently have a 700W. I'm on my third replacement (keeps locking up, not connecting to BT devices without a reset etc). The next replacement I'm going to try to push for the 700P, the last time they replaced it they said they would on a 3rd, this is my 3rd soooo...

The one thing I'm not sure about with the 700P is wether or not it will sync between 2 computers as my 700W currently does? I have the home desktop and my laptop and thanks to the 700W I easily keep my client files the same on each computer by syncing through bluetooth on each computer. I CANNOT go without this functionality and need to know if the 700P will do the same?

I see on the Palm website that Blackberry push email connect is available if you are using a Treo 650 on the Cingular network. Anyone have any idea if this will be available for the 700 on VZW?

Has anyone tried out the Tom Tom GPS navigation system for this phone, I would be interested in comments before I spend 299.00 for the software.

I am on Sprint PCS on a regular phone. Through a warranty swap I can get a new Treo 650. I need a good phone but a pda also would be nice. How is this model (650)? Should I make the move and get the 650 or wait until I can afford the newer 700P or 700WX? Please any input-Thanks-George

Today I bought Treop 700P and installed all software but could not syncronize with ourlook.I can install new software and Game but just could not sync all contents of outlook like contacts / calender but can do memo.

Quick question concerning the 700p. How do you send a text message to a phone number that is in your call log? All I see is the option to dial the number.

I know on the 700w you can hold the stylus on hte number and a little menu will pop up that asks you if you'd like to dial the number or send a text to it.

Has anyone found a bluetooth device that will work with voice dial. A wired hands free will work but I have not been able to get any of my bluetooth devices to work.

Does anyone know how I can get solitaire and tetris on my phone.
