have you even ever used one? You are a famous lg/verizon basher here so I will waite and see myself. You continually slam the 8300 which works better at my house than my wife's 815. Her moto doesn't always receive incoming calls and will not hold an evdo signal, but the lg is free of these issues.

LG's do sound like crap generally, Samsungs are much clearer...that's just a statement of fact. Nothing personal to the LG people.

I have had the LG6100, LG8100, LG 9800 (V), Mot E815 and Samsung 950. I upgraded my daughter's 6100 to the Samsung 950 and she hated and demanded her 6200 back, it so I tried it out. I have to say, the LG6100 gets a phenomanally better signal than the Samsung does. I hated the E815, nice signal but I found it to be unreasonably complex. My V gets a better signal than the LG8100, but not by a lot. I have several friends with Razrs and have no desire to incurr the problems they have. Carrier doesn't seem to matter, it's a horrible little phone. I'm intrigued by the Chocolate. It's thin, it has a keyboard, and my daughter my like the iPod look. Of course I don't need to do any more to encourage her txt messaging habits.

i know that ive seen you bashing almost every phone that goes through verizon. Is T-moblie or someone paying you to bash all these phones or what. I had a razor and now have the LG9800. LG makes a much higher quality phone than motorola and in my opinion its the best on the market. 😕

Actually I had an lg 6100 and the reception was excellent. I have heard that certain phones work better in different states, for me samsungs are awful where i live but i've read that people from the midwest get great reception with them.

you seem to be a very well informed person and have helped me on another issue, so maybe you can answer a couple of ?'s for. Which phone do you prefer the Chocolate or the 8300. I'm happy with the 8300 but still really like the functionality and look of the chocolate. I have had both now and at first had many problems with the chocolate but it seems I'm the only one who has these problems. When syncing the phone it would freeze everything, wouldn't format my memory card, eject spring broke, I lost all battery power after 2 hrs. with a full charge and one thing I didn't like was that the power charger and ear phone jack are one in the same so you can't use your ear phones while charging your phone in the car(seemed to be resolved...

The 8300 is an excellent phone, great for most people. I just like the chocolate over the 8300 because it is so much different. I work for a store so day in and day out i am programing razr,8300,5200 so on so on. The chocolate is just different and that is the only reason i really choose it over the 8300. I had an 8100 and loved it, went to a razr and hated it but i choose to go with the chocolate instead of the 8300 just to have something different. The only thing the chocolate has over the 8300 is looks and size in my opinion. If you are happy with the 8300 then don't feel guilty it is an excellent phone. As far as the chocolate goes i really think you were just unlucky and got a few bad ones, it happens, especially on brand new models. So...

Again thanks, but I have a couple more questions if you have a second. One do you know anything about the LG 8600? Is it coming out relatively early in Q4 and aside from it being a flip is it the same as the Chocolate. On the Chocolate tip, if I bought the extended battery for the Chocolate is it possible to charge the battery while it's not plugged into the phone so you can have a fully charge battery waiting? Thanks again in advance!

as far as the 8600 goes i don't know much besides it is supposed to be out by the end of the year. I personally hated my razor so this ultra thin craze really is not my thing so i will pass on that one, as far as functions my understanding is it should be the same as chocolate, but we will have to waite and see because nothing is official until it is here. Now the real gem will be the 9900. That will be the phone to watch for, out is september, much smaller than the 9800 and upgradeas camera to 2mp! As far as an extended battery and charging it seperately, I have not seen a charger available with that function so for now you must charge it when plugged in phone.

WHAT?! the lg 6100 is the best reception phone ive ever owned?! i got full reception almost everywhere i went! thats just stupid that u would say the 6100 was the worst reception ever, even if u owned a 6100, which i doubt, and had bad reception like u said it was prolly a bunk phone, i work for verizon and that was our best selling phone/ least customer issues. ill never believe another word out of ur mouth

What good is stereo sound when the speakers can only be 2 inches apart? Unless you sit with the phone right in front of you and you don't move, you'll never hear a difference.

I disagree. I had the V710 which had just one speaker. Although it was loud, you could tell it wasn't stereo. My LG8300 sounds completely different and much louder and crisper sound. You don't have to hold the phone in front of you to tell the difference. I would compare the sound to the difference between listening to AM radio(v710)and FM radio(8300).Plus the 8300 has a 3D setting which gives it a bit of surround like sound.

The V710 wasn't ever intended to be used to listen to music though. Since it was a voice, coming from a mono source (mic on another phone) of course it sounds different.

The 8500 has a 3d setting as well I think and I've listened to the phone play some of the songs off of VCast music and they sound great.

About 20% of the people in the call center I work in have one. I really could care less about the speaker quality for music though, I'd rather use headphones and not be an ass to the people around me

the sound on the chocolate is just as good when on 3d surround. Now it is not as loud, but clarity is excellent. If you crank it all the way up sometimes the speaker crackles a bit with the high volume. I have mine set to the next lowest one and I am very pleased with it. I owned an 8100 for 6 months and have used the 8300 many of times. Is the sound better on those others, i would say no, but they are a bit louder.

I wouldn't say that this phone has reception issues. I am keeping my eye on it though.

Thinking about getting one..but I'm gonna wait about a year or so.

What I'm looking for is a defect that was on a similar one made for T-mo, the touch sensitive keys.

The defect, which can't be seen through short beta testing is after a while of usage, T-Mo's touch sensitive keys would suddenly stop working. Usually after 6-12 months of use.

(Recognized similar problems with touch activated lights. Might be heat sensitivity...)

If it don't show up here..I found my next phone. So far...I like what I see.

nobody is going to care about this phone in a year and the korean version didn't show similar issues, on top of that if it happens before 12months you have a waranty to cover that, If you like just do a one year, that is what i do. But in a year all the streaming video phones(media flow) will be out and the chocolate will be old news if still around.
