I'm still in high skool. (Yep. Youngin here) I am a very serious cell phone power user. Always makin it do stuff it's not supposed to and all..... anyways, my issue is, I'm not suposed to have a cell phone in skool but I always leave it on silent. Never had a issue with the vx8000 making noise in skool. Music player even came on sometimes but no sound. The vx8500 concerns me very much of this issue. Is there a key lock switch or anything cauze if not, I'm stickin 2 the vx8300 as my next choice.

You will have NO issue with Key Lock on the VX8500. . . It is a great phone, but it might actually be a problem after a while. Key Lock is standard on, and I am actually still trying to figure out how to take it off. If you wait two seconds, the phone locks, and you have to press the side "Microphone" button twice to unlock the key sensitive buttons. Overall, a great phone, and a great upgrade from the 8000. I say go for it, you'll love it for school being so small and not going off because of the keylock. If anyone knows how to get the keylock feature to stay off longer than two seconds, please let me know. LoL, hope this helps!!
