I was wondering if it is possible to use an mp3 (or WMA) file and set as a ringtone on the Chocolate. I've tried to look this up in the manual but I haven't found anything.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

several people chimed in and answered this question in other posts, but the basic gist is yes.
I used the following method:
-crop mp3 files to under 350kb on your comp using software (audacity works well)
-go to mobileforfun.com
-send it to your phone
-save it, and then you can do what you please with it
...
okay...cool.
I'll give that a shot.
I have SoundForge so i'll clip down with that.
thanks for the tip!

tired to go to mobileforfun.com and no dice.
says it's not there...
...
it is actually funformobile.com
...
can u also send the ringtones in a text from say the walmart site as .mid files?
...
On a side note, any suggestions on good MP3 cropping software?
Thx 🙂

First post - audacity.
Quick ? - you send it to your phone number, not email, correct?
...
yournumber@vzwpix.com so you are emailing it to your phone basically and it will come through as a pix message
...
ah, sorry about that dyslexia confusion...
Yes, yes..its funformobile.com LOL
And i used audicity to crop mine. This has also been posted before, but once you DL audicity you have to DL the "Lame" plug-in in order to export mp3 files out.
Put your phone number into the funformobile site, or...as yeahright said, you can just email it to yourself at "yournumber"@vzwpix.com
Either way works...i thought funformobile was a littler faster.
Good luck!

yeah i use funformobile to, it is pretty easy

You can send it using any email program yahoo, hotmail etc... just crop it using whatever program you prefer (I use soundforge). Send it to your phone yourphonenumber@vzw.com. When you recieve the message it'll ask you if you want save it, then select the save as ringtone option. When you go to set your ringtone it'll right there at the top of the list.

I tried sending a small music file (less than 2 MB) using Fun For Mobile, and it sent it, but my Chocolate said the file was too big to open. I tried again with an even smaller music file and I got the same message Anyway to fix this?
...
I believe you need to have the file under 350kb, which is MUCH smaller then 2MB. 🙂

Are you able to set different ringtones for the different numbers in your phones memory?
...
BITPIM, BITPIM, BITPIM!!! get a data cable and put any noise, sound, music, etc. on your phone as a ringtone. it can be wma or mp3, it doesn't matter. you don't have to compress your files either so they sound better.
...
do you know how to use bluetooth to connect to bitpim
