LG VX-8500 Chocolate

Recieved my phone this morning! AWESOME! I won't post a full review until I've had time to use it more, but my first impressions are excellent! It's just so different than any other phone out there! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Where the hell can i buy this phone off the internet.... Ebay only has the over seas version which verizon doesnt support...

Does the vx8500 use the same chargers as the vx8300/8100 etc? Also will someone else confirm the fact that there is NOT an port to plug an external antenna into. Thank you.

I don't get why its called Chocolate. Did someone think that sounded cool or is it aimed at little kids?

I wonder if there is someone that I can petition at Verizon to add a phone that has an FM radio?

Please don't review a phone unless you have an actual intelligent review to give. You can't slam a phone for a feature it doesn't have when you should have known that feature was absent before purchase if it was that important to you. Also note by nick1425 has never submitted one forum message or other phone review 🙄 I don't care if you give a bad review of a phone, but be reasonable and give a full review. That would be like me giving the v3c a 2 for not having a memory card slot. How dare they charge me two hundred dollars for a phone with no memory expansion or flash on the camera..but yet i didn't because i knew and accepted those features as missing before purchase because i did my research before blowing that kind of money.

VZ web says get the Chocolate for $49.99, but when ur at phone site it's $149.99 for 2-yrs and $199.99 for 1-yr. Thanx ahead for ur input...

Clicking the Show Missing Features link seems to indicate the phone has no speakerphone and no headphone jack. The latter seems a little weird.

Looking at VZW's site, I can't find a headphone jack on the 360 view. Maybe like PCs shipping with no floppy drive, this is a BT-headset only phone? Seems odd.

My main concern is good reception, followed by a decent battery. In this case, the LG is a disappointment. It doesn't seem to have an optional high capacity battery, and 800mAh is pretty light.

Most of the new phones don't have a charging cradle, so charging a spare battery is really inconvenient.

Aside from the MP3 feature, the 8300 may be a better deal for me.

Does anyone know yet what type of interface cable this phone is using to a USB port and what about a car charger; will any other LG models work with it?

Also does it or does it not have a Speakerphone option since Verizon's site says it does but on this forum people are saying it doesn't!

I had the chance to see a pre production model and it's reception was very poor. Production model might, hopefully be different.

I ordered it first thing this morning with overnight shipping to arrive by 10:30 a.m. tomorrow! I am so excited my lips are tingling!
