Your bluetooth recs?
lite1Oct 7, 2006, 11:20 AM
Most likely will be buying Katana (rather than Blade, or Samsung 920) mostly because of better call quality from phone with or without a corded earpiece. [I've been doing significant side-by-side testing of all 3 phones for the past two days.]
Never used bluetooth b4. What pairs well with Katana? Call quality is my major criteria (not size, looks, talk time, or cost). Often use phone in car with significant road/tire noise. Probably will consider bluetooth as the need for adapter to use corded earpiece is one aspect of Katana that is quite unappealing. Thanks

I just got the Samsung WEP200 after going thru about 4 different sets and this far and away is the best from a pairing and clear connection standpoint. I also recomend getting the extended life battery if yo have not already as it more than doubles your talk time which with the Bluetooth active 24-7 like I have is vital....

Thx for reply. What do you like about it? Do you use it in a car with road noise? What other BT hav e you used with Katana and why do you find the Samsung WEP 200 better? I've read good things on the Plantronics 510 and will probably give that a try.

I not only use it in the car, but the location that I work out of is in the flight path of an air force base and we get numerous fly overs. I have tried every and I do mean every Jabra headset available. Plantronics, I have not used the 510, but I have not found in the past Plantronics to be reliable. Samsung is much more comfortable for longer periods of time, smaller and it comes with a carry case as well. If you plan on using Bluetooth for any length of time, do yourself a favor and get the extended life battery. The only downside to the Samsung is the 5 hour talk time...Sometimes I have to recharge in the middle of the day, but it fully charges in an hour....

My friend just got the Katana and needs a headset. I use the Plantronics 510 with my 8400 and it's great. She may want one that is a little cheaper and not as big. I had the WEP200 at 1st and it didn't fit right in my ear and to me was uncomfortable. But I never tried it with my phone. I returned it to Sprint. I wonder how well a little Motorla 500 would work with the Katana I know she can't afford hte H700... Anywone else tried other headsets with your katana. Thanks, Rose
