Reasnality -vs- Normability

I've been highly entertained by this particular phone's forum board. Well, this nad the phone that looks like a compact of birth control (for obvious reasons). I bet you're all going to try to find that one now if you haven't already.

Sanyo, as a company, is smart. Taking a chip off of TinyJ316's block, "Don't fix what ain't broke, and if you can still sell it by changing the package, then by god, do it." You can't tell me you wouldn't.

Working for Sprint and directly dealing with people who don't know what kind of

Your bluetooth recs?

Most likely will be buying Katana (rather than Blade, or Samsung 920) mostly because of better call quality from phone with or without a corded earpiece. [I've been doing significant side-by-side testing of all 3 phones for the past two days.]
Never used bluetooth b4. What pairs well with Katana? Call quality is my major criteria (not size, looks, talk time, or cost). Often use phone in car with significant road/tire noise. Probably will consider bluetooth as the need for adapter to use corded earpiece is one aspect of Katana that is quite unappealing. Thanks

My experience

I work at Radio Shack. I've had experience handling and selling most of the top phones for Sprint and Cingular. I just bought a Katana of my own and decided to check what the forums said about the phone. After hearing what both sides had to say, I decided to give my own opinion.

First of, The Katana is made by Sanyo which makes it a good phone right off. Now before everyone calls me bias, notice the noun I used. Phone. While other companies focus on fitting in MP3's, megapixel cameras, and other devices into a cell phone; Sanyo's expertise and focus has always been in the actual "phone". Receptions with ANY Sanyo is amazing. How amazing? I used to sell phones in Florida, and during a storm, if you didn't have a Sanyo, you didn't have rece...

mp3 ringtones

I just got Katana and was wondering how to transfer mp3 ringtones into this phone. Bluetooth won't work. I also purchased a data cable but when I connect it to my laptop it can't seem to find any drivers. I'll keep looking on the internet on how to go around this damn thing. If anybody knows anything, just let me know.

Adding Opera Mini to Katana

Overall, I am pleased with my Sanyo Katana too, and overall think it's a great phone, but I am disappointed that I have not been able to download and install Opera Mini as drezden has.

The download site is blocked, and when I text 96077 I get a message back from mediaplazza saying it's "not available for your cellphone."

drezden said: "I installed the Opera Mini web browser right away . . ."

drezden - How did you do that?

Has anyone else been able to download and install Opera Mini on their Katana? If so, how?

Can I transfer all [approx. 300] my MS Outlook contacts at once to the Katana by BT?

Bluetooth connection to my Palm TX

Does anyone know if I can use the Bluetooth feature to connect my Palm TX to the Internet via the SCP-6600 phone?
I currently can connect my laptop to the Internet with a cable that connects to my present Sprint phone.

Sprint's equipment return policy?

I'm trying to get a better understanding of Sprint's equipment return policy.
I understand it's basically a 30 day open window for exchanging, but I'm wondering if that's only for phones purchased from Sprint.com & free standing stores, or would that also apply if I purchased from Best Buy or Radio Shack?
It seems like I can upgrade at Best Buy to either the Blade or Katana, and it's an out the door cash deal as opposed to waiting on rebates from Sprint.
Any ideas?

So here's the thing...

I have a Sanyo MM-8300 right now and I am just getting a little bored with the phone. I've been looking around, and I kind of like the Katana and the Fusic.

Obviously, feature-wise, the Fusic is a lot better and gives more, but it would also cost me about $50 more and I also prefer the Katana look.

I've read a lot of stuff about the phone, and it seems that people that are really high tech and want the uber high speed internet, uber good camera, etc. dislike the Katana. I'm really not too worried about the high speed... The VGA camera is probably good enough for me.

What do you think? And keep in mine that it's $50 less and looks a lot better.

Why do stupid people talk????

Ok. I am a proud Sprint customer. I just bought a KATANA. It is not a razr. Have you ever used a RAZR? It is a Motorola product and everybody I know with a RAZR hates it. Compare the camera on the RAZR with the KATANA. The KATANA camera looks way better. Put them side by side and take a pic. See for yourself. Also, It is not a Blade. Again, everyone with a Blade says it sux. Signal strength on the Blade is horrible. And the MP3 on the blade...yeah not that great either. The KATANA is not an 8200 either. I hade one of those. It had Ready Link, crappy camera, crappy screen, crappy hinges that broke, and it didnt have bluetooth and was not thin. The KATANA is a great phone. Sanyo is the best carrier Sprint has. No one has Ready Link so PTT doe...

are you kidding me?!

the CEO of sanyo should retire.... what a lame company.... not only behind on technology... but make insanely ugly phones.... and why copy a razr?! the thing is over a year old.... idiots.. make a phone that supports itunes or xm radio or something innovative.

Katana Notepad

Does anyone know if the Katana has a notepad or any where you can save notes? On my old LG I had a place I could put notes or reminders of certain info I cold not remember.
