Reception
So, for those of you who own the LG VX-8600, how is the reception? I was originally going to get the LG VX-8600 until I heard the LG VX-8700 was coming out.
I bought the 8700 a few weeks ago but quickly returned it because the reception was so bad. I either couldn't get a signal in the rural areas where I was used to getting one or I would drop calls pretty frequently due to the lack of signal. I even tried another phone, but it didn't help.
A customer service representative said that poor reception was a common issue with the 8700 and may be due to the metal casing. Before I purchase the LG VX-8600, I'd like to know if its reception is any better, especially since it doesn't have the metal casing.
Thanks...

I've had mine for 2 weeks and have great reception. In my office building where everyone has to stand at the windows to get reception on their phones I can sit in my office in the middle of the building and make and receive calls.

The reception was great for the first month or so. since then it has been very temperamental. If I had to do over I would not get this phone. Other than the reception I do like the clothes.

I've had the same problems.
After a month, I lost all reception inside my house, and at my job. While driving, I start roaming, and when I asked about it, they told me it was normal. I have Alltel and live in a pretty metro area, and this is the first phone to cause any problems.

I concur. Had no problems for the first 9 months. Suddenly 2 months ago, my neighborhood and home became dropped call zones and it hasn't changed.
