LG VX-8600 / AX-8600

Does the LG 8600 have the ability to have different ringtones for different contacts in their contact lists?

Also, can I set one specific ringtone for caller id and a separate one for unidentified numbers? Please advise as soon as possible. I need to buy a new phone QUICKLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can someone tell me what are the advantages & disadvantages of an unlocked phone? Do you have to activate with a carrier? Thanx.

I've finally qualified for the 2 every 2 and have just received the LG 8600 Flip

Just purchased a HBM-500 Bluetooth headset and when a person calls

They say it sounds annoying since they're voice echoes
am i doing something wrong?
My voice sounds OK to the caller, But when the caller begins to speak, They hear a Very Echoed Voice

I apologize for my vagueness since this is my first Experience with blue-tooth

I was wondering if anyone has an extended life battery. It looks big compared to the normal one, and I was wondering if the size is worth the life it gives.

I'm used to my old SLVR where I could listen to music, talk all day, and not charge my battery for 2 days. Now it seems like I'm killing my battery every day.

So should I just get a car charger and have to keep charging it all the time, or just get the new battery?

Can anyone tell me about the keypad... how hard is it to text on it or dial? It looks (and feels) like you have to look at the keypad or can you get used to it and text without looking?

Has anyone noticed a repetitive noise when you leave the phone on when charging? My phone makes a sound every time the battery icon flashes. The only way to stop it is to let the phone charge with the power off.

Any help is appreciated.

i don't know why but half of the songs won't play I tried with the choclate it works fine, but not on other lg 8600's. I have a 1 gigabit card and I use a sandisk mobilemate to transfer my songs.

I am still trying to decide on a phone.. I am sorry that I keep asking questions. I have never been so on the fence about the phones Verizon offers. I am trying to decide between the LG enV and the 8600. I love all of the bells and whistles (battery life, camera, music player) of the enV, but I am not thrilled about the size. I love the size of the 8600, but I am not thrilled about the speakerphone and the keyboard. All of this being said, I wanted to hear what people thought about the keyboard - is it difficult to type or text? Can you do it without looking? etc??

are there any worthy phones coming out soon? Do you think Verizon will offer an update of the 8600 soon to remedy the horrible speakerphone?

I looked at this phone again today in the verizon store and noticed it had 4 animations to use as wallpaper. Is there a way to download more of this type of wallpaper?

I was just wondering is there any way to get games off the computer, put them on the micro sd card, and transfer them to you phone via the micro sd card... after awhile buying those games add up...

This is just what I wanted, an adapter that didn't involve a long, miked cord. I just wanted to plug my own regular phones into it and be done with it.

They have to come from the UK, but pricing wasn't too bad, around $7.00 US, with shipping.

I'll post again once I get them and try them out.

The animation option for this phone is new. Anyone know where to get additional animations?

Right now I am trying to decide between a few phones. I originally thought about buying the treo because it woudl enable me to get rid of my palm pilot. I never thought of the enV until now. I know the enV is a smart phone, but can I sync with my mac (or palm program) and load my contacts, tasks, notes and calendar on it? If I dont get a smart phone, I am also considering the LG 860O, Motorola Slvr or Krzr.

I am getting a new phone this week and would like some imput. Which would you get, the white chocolate or the 8600?

I just bought my LG VX8600 and so far I love it. I wanted to expand the amount of music that I can store and had some questions.

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of memory of a micro sd card that this phone can handle?

Also, does anyone know if the the Kingston 1GB MicroSD flash memory is compatable with this phone?

Is there a limit to the length of the ringtone that can be applied to this phone and what is the max bytes for this phone (ie: 128, 192,.. etc)

I am a Verizon Wireless employee and all of my customers claim to be having the same problems with this phone and the Chocolate. It seems that the touch-sensitive external music keys are becoming useless after a couple of months of use. I have not yet heard this Problem with the KRZR but I am sure it is only a matter of time. If anyone else is experiencing this problem, please let me know.

Well, the pictures of this phone make it look like a very masculine looking phone. I looked at it in the store and it looked much different.

I bought a USB cable on ebay but for some reason bitpim can't connect to my phone. Yes, I tried manually setting it to a VX8500 but still no luck. I think I need to get the driver for the phone. Any suggestions?
