Pretty Good Phone
It's really been I while since I had a Nokia the last 3 phones that I had were Moto's so it took me back a little bit to get used to the menu functions but overall I find it a nice phone I really like the size too the last moto I had was the V810 and the thing was so small I was always afraid that I was going to loose out of my hand and out the window. BT and IR in the same phone is nice too... still learning it but so far so good.
So far so good
all is good, I'm live in St.Louis, MO and have Verizon has my carrier and this phone is so new to them I had a hard time getting it activated. Also can't get on the web yet. they tell me that I would have to leave the phone so a tech can program it. So far it's the service I'm having to deal with that is my down side. Only thing I can find wrong is that one reason. I got this phone to record my calls. all the ads I checked into stated that this is one of the features? It is a bigger flip phone than most. over all good
I LOve this phone
This is the best camera that I've ever seen on a phone. The pictures seem as if you took it with a digital camera.
Another great thing is I can make my own ringtone, with my voice or radio.(Saves me money on ringtones.
I haven't found any flaws yet, but when I do,I'll be sure to let you know.
Another thing: The phone is a little BIG.
Not sure yet
I purchased this phone about a week ago, afte using an LG 5450. I initially went to the Alltel store to buy yet another charger for my previous phone. I liked this one because of the FM radio and MP3 player. I should've "played around" a little more with this phone before I jumped into buying it. The menus are kinda confusing, you have to go through one to get to another. You can only assign certain ringtones to your contacts, yet there are 2 or 3 different types of tones? When you close the shell the screen doesn't go back to the startup menu it stays where you last left off. So far the reception qualtiy is great though. I really don't like the look of the front (white with silver spots) I do like the big screen, and the feel of the number buttons. I haven't tried bluetooth yet so I can't tell you 'bout that. I'm always at work so I havent downloded any MP3's either. Go figure the ibitial reasin for getting this phone. The camera takes great pics. Sad to say though, I think I liked my LG a little better. But give me some time to get used to this one. I'lkl report back. I wonder what the return policy is at Alltel?
Glad it was discontinued
I just got rid of this phone. I use MetroPCS and it was their first bluetooth offering. I used it for 2 years, but I hated it. The clamshell hinges cracked easily. I am a heavy user because of my business. I went through 3 of these phones in a 2 year period. I just switched to the SLVR. I was glad to see MetroPCS discontinued it.
Nokia 6255i Just S**ks A**
I have had a total of two different phones since April 2006 and the phones have spent more time getting repaired then they have in my possession. It seems like the phones are having the same problem
Cons
1. Phone is always dropping calls while in use or you donât get them because they went straight to your voice mail. Signal wise is full bars
2. When someone calls you and you have them stored in you address book, the phone will do a double ring. If you catch it quick enough you will see who it is on the first half wring, but if not then all you see is a phone number that is being displayed on the second wring.
3. The phone will shut down by its self when someone calls you even if the battery is fully charged. Sometimes I have even had the phone on the phone charger and it still shuts down. When attempting to turn the phone back on sometimes you can just press the on/off button. Other times I have to take the battery off of the unit then put it back on and then power it up.
Pros
1. If you can get the phone to work correctly then it is a decent phone. This is about all I can say about the phone.
Beware! The Nokia 6255i Will Trick You!
One thing that every writer on this site must learn to do, give at least 6 to 8 months with a phone before submitting a review.
This phone has surpassed the Nokia 8290 by being the biggest waste of my money on a cellphone. Nokia has a long way to go in the world of flip phones.
Pros:
......well, I actually love the keypad. Probably the best I've ever handled. Great for text messaging.
LOUD alarm clock.
Nokia will always have the best user menu.
expandable memory
bluetooth
Cons:
series 40 OS (will not sync with Mac) and this is no fault on apple!
phone shuts off randomly without warning.
internal screen will develop a crack in the corner for no reason.
cheaply made (not worth the 269.00 I paid)
distorted speakerphone.
battery life sucks (like most cellphones)
Nokia will ignore you when you ask them to replace the phone.
My main problem with the Nokia 6255i is the same as the 8290. It's not built to last.
That's 2 Strikes Nokia! One More and you're out!!!!...then I'll have to kill off my screen name on this site ;-)
