Best phone around

Nov 27, 2007 by taxial

I'm giving this phone a 5 because I will try to only review the phone, but i will say that I have this phone though verizon and while I have no complaints about the razr, I find that after using a friends v3 in the NYC area Gsm gets better in building signal than Cdma, so I just ordered a v3 from ATT.
But as the the razor phones, they just cant be beat. Don't listen to others about durability, this phone is strong, and I am not easy on phones.
The signal and call quality are better than any other phone i have had, and I have had many.
The sound is as close to landline as I have ever heard, hardly drops a call.
As for software, I know it's old moto but I have had so many moto's I guess you get used to it and it does get the job done.
All in all, this is a first class phone. If you need a strong phone that is comfortable in a pocket and gets a good strong signal and sounds great both ways, buy this one or any razr.

Wow, Finally a phone that lives up to the hype

I have had this phone for a little over a year and have to say I think it's still the best phone currently offered by Verizon. It's rugged enough to deal with life's daily hazards and also light enough to carry in your pocket.

The reception and voice clarity are second to none with voices coming in crystal clear just about everywhere. If you have the Razr with Verizon do what I did and go to the store to get it flashed to update it's UI. It operates much better with a better sounding music player and the whole phone operates much quicker. It also allows more customization like changing screen brightness and the wallpaper on the outside screen.

I don't know what people are saying about pour battery life because I can get about three hours fifty minutes talk time on a single charge. With normal use I get about two to three days use before a recharge is needed.

Sure, the Rare has been out for a while but it's still one of the best phones out there. I don't hesitate to recommend the Razr V3M and with the new update it makes the phone all that much better.

I wish to start this off by saying that this phone disappoints me. I got the Razr V3M after all my family members had gotten one and told me how good they were. My boyfriend discouraged me from getting one and I got it anyways.
I love my moto phones just this one needs to have the battery life fixed. It doesn't last long.

Pros: Sleek and red!!!!

Cons: Battery life
Flimsy
Takes forever to delete texts messages
Drop it and its all over.

Run For Your Life!

PROS:
-Thin design
-Bluetooth
-Can "make calls"...

CONS:
-Keyboard is made of metal. It is maleable, and bends over time of use
-Made of hard plastic composite, breaks easily
-Not very durable
-Battery compartment not sealed, becomes water damaged easily and voids warranty.

Eh... It is alright.

After having a Verizon V3m Razr for a little over a year I think the best thing I can say for it is "eh".

When I first got my Razr I loved that it could do so much (camera, MP3, internet, all that jazz) in such a slim phone that slid easily into my pocket during work, even with a case on.

It didn't take long for me to get annoyed with Verizon's clunky GUI and the overall sluggishness of the phone.

I do have great love for this phone though. I love the big screen and buttons. I used mine mostly as an MP3 and text messaging machine, and although the phone works great for texting and ok for music... once you find your way to the buried music application, it has a one track mind and can't do both at the same time. I could never understand why I couldn't listen to music and text at the same time. I can now with my new Ericcson w580i.

Now I miss my big buttons though.

moto v3m

solid performer all around, actually found to be rugged, no scratches on case in every pocket with keys and change, no scratches in a year of use.
This phone is the basis of what all other phones strive for, what move next in cells, it really has futuristic style.
Wonderful phone, I miss using mine already and its only been put away for two days.
Why put away for a querty phone with a flash camera, the motos only downsides at this moment, no flash on cam, and no querty keyboard for texting.

If you want a camera you can feel proud of, and depend on this is it!

Once again, motorola fails

I work for a sprint kiosk and I get more complaints about the razr than any other phone. Battery life sucks. I have to charge my razr about 2-3 times a day. Signal strength is not great, and the durability is horendous. I've had customers come in with the lower half of the razr completely broken in half, so the phone was in three pieces. I've had customers with the keypad fallen off. Signal strength is awful. Sometimes my razr won't even get signal in the large city of Madison, Wisconsin. Which is where I'm from. The phone has a lot of functions, but what good are the functions without the basics?

Overall, bad phone.

A workhorse

I've noticed a lot of negative reviews, but mine has been great. This is an all around solid mid-range phone.

Pros:
Sleek, slim lightweight design
Excellent call quality
Large display on internal screen
Ease of texting
Loud ringtones

Cons:
Verizon's UI locks many features
Battery life is poor
Awful external display (can't see in daylight)
Slow to load some features (pictures, mobile web)

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

When I first got this phone three weeks ago, there were some things I liked about it. First, it's light, not bulky and has very good reception in my rural area. Then I started trying to use the features I enjoy in a phone!
The phone comes with better ring tones than I have had in the past, but just try to download a ringtone from your PC...Its not possible no matter what the manual or the Motorola website says! You can drag and drop a ring tone onto the card, move the ring tone into Get tunes and tones...but the phone does not give you the option to assign new ringtones to a caller. Nice! you can sit there and play your ring tone to yourself!
This phone eats batteries! I am on my second battery, and replacing the battery with a new one doesn't help. 12 hours tops is all you get before it dies.
I was able to download some of my favorite music onto the SD card. The music quality is tinny and I would like a more full sound...but it is very loud!
I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone unless they just want good reception and have an unlimited budget for batteries.
