this phone is amazing
i got this phone two days ago and have been playing with it so much i feel that i can give a good enough review.
pros
the qwerty keyboard!
the flip design
the keys are fine for texting you get used to them in no time.
the different themes are good...not just the standard layout
being able to talk with the phone closed
answering the phone with the speaker button
cons
camera is ok. the editing and additions are nice to fool around with though
my last phone was not sturdy and always squeaked in your ear...this one doesn't do it yet but I'm nervous that it might from other reviews...its the most annoying thing a phone can do
AWESOME ! ! !
Have had this phone for a week and a half. LOVE IT ! ! ! Dual-flip form factor is great and the phone is the perfect size. QWERTY keyboard works very well. I have very large hands but no trouble typing on it even with the tiny buttons. I used to avoid texting but am now becoming addicted. My previous experience with Samsung phones was that they get poor reception. Not this phone. The reception is as good as any internal antenna phone offered by Verizon. Call clarity is very good and call volume can be turned up louder than any phone Iâve seen. Music player quality is far better than any phone Iâve ever tried (including Chocolate) and even better than every stand-alone MP3 player Iâve used except iPod.
A few CONS:
Camera only average, internal LCD only average, included ring-tone selection is weak and max volume on ringers is not as loud as Iâd like.
Excellent Phone !
I recently bought the u740 as a replacement for my Motorola E815. The first thing I liked about this phone was the small size. When I figured out that it had a full Qwerty keyboard, dual hinge design, and a large and very colorful lcd, I was sold. I have had this phone for about 2 days now and I will list the pros and cons of it.
Pros:
1)Qwerty keyboard
2)Dual hinge design(very cool)
3)Small and thin design
4)Front side touch sensitive mp3 controls
5)Solid feel
6)Slick all black design
7)Excellent Camera(with many different effects and options)
8)Has many cool features such as voice text messaging
9)Solid Audio Quality
10)Very good call quality and reception(verizon)
Cons:
1)When viewing pictures after their taken in your gallery, the images appear quite small. This can easily be fixed with a software update.
2)Cannot use any advanced features of the phone such as Get it now when flipped in portrate mode
3)Though Reception is excellent, unfortunately, my E815 got a slightly better signal in my basement(most phones don't work down there at all) Though it was still able to make and receive calls just fine.
The Pros definitely over rule the cons. I do Highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants a cool, small, and feature full phone.
I love this phone!
I decided to get this phone because of the mostly positive reviews I read about. I really didn't care about text messaging so using the phone in the landscape mode was not of interest to me and it really wasn't that important that I have any of the other features since I mainly wanted it just to make calls. I ordered it in the gold and I really love this color because it's different. I like it much better than the black.
When the phone came in it kind of put me off because of how tiny the keypad is. I'm a woman with average size hands but figured there's no way I'd be able to type in the correct numbers or letters because it looked like my fingers would be too big. I stared at the phone for a couple days figuring I'd just send it back and get a regular phone. But I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. I also ordered one for my daughter and she felt the same way.
But it turns out that we just love this phone! It is so easy to use and I never had to look at the handbook provided in order to learn how to use it. I'm not that great with technical gadgets but this was so easy to use. I have not had any problems with the size of the keypad and I've not had any problems with pressing the wrong keys. I never used to text cuz it was a pain but now it's so simple and quick! I really only use it for calls and texting.
I haven't used it as an MP3 player and I really haven't used the other features. But what I do use it for I find it to be the best phone I've ever had. The sound quality is great! I do find that I have to charge it a bit more but I think that's because I'm texting so much more. I love the size of it too. I had the Samsung 640 (I believe that's what it was) before and loved how small that phone was. But this is so slim and was so easy to get used to. Everyone I know is dying to get one of these now! Great phone!!!
Decent
While I do not personally own the phone. I was planning on getting it because it is the latest and greatest. I sell the phone through my job and I took my time to look it over in the store.
Pro: Takes music directly from card I had for a previous phone and plays music without having to sync it to a computer.
Cons: The buttons are TOO SMALL! I'm a big guy, and I hit 5 buttons at once when I am trying to text.
Samsung phones I feel have some of the best reception and battery life so I do not doubt those two.
The Verizon UI is good with customizable menu displays.
Good phone for people with small fingers or used to QWERTY pads. Not so good for big guys/gals with big fingers.
Great phone and great features
I've had this phone for about a month and 1/2 and so far it's been great. I purchased it in black. I upgraded from the Samsung 950 so I love the sleek design of the phone. I LOVE that it has the full QWERTY keyboard which makes it so much easier for texting. The buttons did take a little getting used to and I am still working on it. I have no problems with reception and I live in a spotty coverage area.
PROS:
*Sleek design, black color is great
*Dual hinge is a sure conversation starter
*QWERTY keyboard makes texting so much easier
*Can get pretty much all features available through Verizon
CONS:
*Wish buttons were slightly more raised, I think that would make it a little easier to get used to
*Some feature are only available in certain modes, very annoying
This phone is Great!!
I've had this phone for a few months now and I haven't had a single problem with it. I've had a few dropped calls but that was because of my location. Compaired to all the phones i've had in the past this is by far the best. By the way there is a stereo bluetooth for this phone its the samsung wep 180

sleek, excellent audio, excellent rf, qwerty keyboard very useful and works well. camera is excellent for being a phone. battery last long. I definetely recommend this handset to
anyone looking a phone that has a professional appearance and want something reliable. Great job verizon and samsung!!!!!!
This phone is awesome
I have had this phone for like 3 weeks now. I like everything about it. I have no complaints whatsoever. It does everything it is supposed to. It is a great size and feels super durable. I would totally recommend this phone.
Samsung U740 not worth it
Purchase the phone and used it for 24 hours. I went back to the original phone I was using. I was unable to use the buttons; to dial and/or send text, as they were too small for my fingers. This phone for what you want to use it for should be much larger. It is attempting to be compared to LG V.
