i love my g1
I'm a retail sales person and I have tryed many phones my salfe. I will have to say this is realy a good phone. My manager owns the samsung instinct. He allways claims his phone is better then my g1 so every day I proof him that the g1 is better by showing him the phonescoop compering ratings so now he dost say much and for those who talk very bad about the g1 just undertand. That is a smart phone for smart people!!!!!!
please read this earic
i think the phone is great but i talked to a t-Mobile rep and they said that it now supports up to 32 gb micro sd cards now so thank you for reading this
G1
Android:
I have had my G1 for a few days now, it did take some getting used to, there are some things with Android which I don't care for, like try to install applications off the sd card, but those I feel will be fixed. Otherwise after a learning curve, very intuitive.
Now the Phone:
Pro's: Nice Bright and responsive screen.
The phones CPU is fast and handles the OS and interface well.
Easy to set up wifi and get going. Lots of ways to configure this phone.
Con's: The Keyboard SUX and no touchscreen KB at present.
Returning it!!!!!!!
First let me say that i wanted to love this phone so much i left verizon after 5 years.I fought with my wife cause she wouldnt leave verizon. so now we are on seperate plans with seperate carriers just so i could get this phone.
After saying that i have to say T-mo and google screwed the pooch. The phone is horrible, its too big,too heavy, and too cheap feeling.Yes the screen is brilliant, and the OS is the best ive ever used. But theres somethi ng to be said for astetics and how domething feels and looks. For example i dont like the Iphone or Apple but i will say it is a nice looking device. The G1 just is awful.
Also there are massive issues with it working right now. Check the T-mo forums and you will see the signs of a carrier that wasnt ready for the launch.Issues with internet conectivity in roaming areas, issues with firmware. The phones only been out 3 weeks and they have already done 2 firmware updates???!!! I understand wanting to upgrade the phone even apple does them. but 2 in three weeks after launch? that tells me they launched it knowing it had issues and figured to fix them after the fact. But how many issues did they not find?
The things i like about the phone are the responsivnes of the screen.
The size of the screen.
The operating system being open source.
Now for my list of cons....
EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE PHONE!!!!!!
I will try again on the G2.
iPhone Killer!
This phone is the greatest phone the US market has ever seen. I don't say that because its perfect, I say that because it has the potential to be. Many people don't realize that the version of Android being run on this phone is still beta! For a beta release this phone is extremely intuitive, stable, fun, and reliable. This operating system and phone are only going to get better. There are not many phones that can constantly be improved, after being purchased, for free.
Pros:
*RESPONSIVE touch screen!
*Vibrant LCD screen
*3.0mp camera
*Keyboard is a breeze and easy to adapt to
*All apps are available for free
Cons:
*Battery life
*No flash (making the camera useless)
*Heavier than other phones with similar dimensions
*Not as loud as my BB Curve
*E-mail does not push live if you are using yahoo, aol, etc.
All-in-all the phone is great. Most of the cons I listed can be improved with software and firmware updates. I suggest this phone to anyone who wants a nice phone with a keyboard. Also great for web browsing and youtube. I wouldn't suggest this phone to business users.
