i'm not impressed...like the Nokia 3585i better
I like the phone at first than I don't care for it. The silver part on the front screen is coming off, I own a Nok according to the phone. The battery cover comes off easy (I'm not the only one, I have a friend in a town about 30 miles away with the same phone and he complains about it!). Likes to drop calls left and right with signal. I liked the Nokia 3585i phone better than this phone. My memory chip gets discounted by itself. So I have to remove it, and then reinstall it so I can play music. The Volume control is not the best, low seems to be high. I am switching to the Motorola V710 soon because of this phone.
Thanks!!!
Hate IT!
I hate this phone, it is the worst 300.00 I have ever spent. After one month the keypad lights broke, but I decided to try and deal with it since I had paid so much money for it. About one month ago, it started turning itself off for no reason at all. I will just look down and it will be off. I have missed a TON of calls because of this. I would guess that it turns itself off about 10 times a day. Also, when it does this, it deletes all current ringtones and wallpaper. I have no idea?!?!? I have to say that the camera is great. Others said they did not like it, but I think it is pretty good although I hardly get to use it because the phone is usually turning itself off. Reception is also pretty good. I do have dropped calls occasionally, but when I do receive my calls, I don't have problems with reception. All in all I received an awful phone.
Itz IIGHT!!!
Iight once again I got a new phone so let me tell yawl about this one!
Pros:
Speaker good
ringers sound good
pictures are iight
flash is cool
video is skraight
cons:
no ringer id!!!
I am so disapointed!!!!
I trusted all of your input. I saw the phone was free for one day only, got two of them, and thought I would be a happy Verizon customer again (I was with Metro PCS for a short time while finances were tight). I wanted good reception, and quality. It sucks!!! I've had worse reception, but I thought Nokia was stronger in this area. My girl and I have used the phone for 3 months now and we get more droped calls in the same area then I ever did with any of my LG phones. And the software is not as good as LG, in fact nothing on this phone is as good as my VX 6000 besides the camera which is decent, but still not great. And I really am tired of waiting on a call, and then my voice mail chimes to let me know I have a new message. It never rang!!!!! Someone called an hour or 2 a go, I have full reception, and it never even rang once!!!! WTF?!?!?!
Pros:
decent camera, but not great
Lots of features
Cons:
Features all seem to be lacking
Poor reception, speratic (spell??)
ugly as heck!!!
Can't do so many things I thought it could, it's actually very limited
To all you guys that rated this phone well, you must not have ever used a decent phone. It really sucks. And I have gone through 2 now, plus my girls works the same, so it's not just an isolated issue. Get an LG!!!
How could you not like this phone
Just picked up one for my son.
I love it so much and when I compare it to Moto or Sony I always hold off about the memory upgrade until last so I can see the look on faces when I say I have a 2 gig mmc card packed full of music, games, and applications.
I am a 240 lb man (not all fat) I have no problem with the buttons except I bump the external record button. (no b,f,d)
I have found no cracks in hinges. (wonder if it is not user abuse)
Battery charge lasts 2.5 days (I do not live on my phone but I do use it for business)
All is good except the cons I list,
Cons
Bulky if you wear jeans.
Flash makes pics blurry (shut it off never needed it)
needs individual mp3 ring tones per person not just group.
Nokia 6256i is a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
I am (was) a huge Nokia fan for years - thought they had the best phones and got the best reception by far. I just want the phone to get good reception - I don't care about MP3 players, radio, camera, etc. I had a Nokia 3589 that was over two years old and the battery isn't what it used to be, I was eligible for the Verizon upgrade so I got the 6256i. Dropped call after dropped call my car on the Garden State Parkway, NYS THruway, my house, etc. The phone had 4 bars (maximum) when all the calls dropped. Called Verizon - they were no help, - nice, but no help. I REALLY, REALLY wanted this phone to work - I went through two of them with the same results. I'm going back to my 3589 until it breaks - then I'll probably just give up on cellular communication.
loving the verizon flip nokia
well just to let you know i love this phone everything about it is great ..no problems here
6255i
Had one for 2 weeks. The hinge broke. Reception was less than with my V710. Not impressed with anything about the 6255i. The RAZR is much better in all ways.
Nokia 6256i - a tad disappointing
I've had this phone for approximately 3 days. After doing tons of research, I decided to go ahead and make the leap.
Pros: jam-packed with features, feels solid enough; easy to close clamshell; aesthetically pleasing to look at; menus are intuitive to some degree; "Go To" feature very helpful;
Cons: not many, but there was mis-representation the picture ID feature - it does not exist; the display isn't sharp enough especially in some light conditions.
I'll update this as time goes on.
Never again
I went online hoping to see if other people might've had the same problem I was having..and here you are!
I bought my Nokia only several months before the first time I had to retun it because of the cracked hinge. Within a year, the phone started going through the menu and turning itself off and on over and over again. Alltel acted like they had never heard of the problem, and told me that I was a few months past my warrant time.
I love the features on this phone! I couldn't believe they couldn't do anything about it turning off and on.
Well..I had to resort back to my very first, original Nokia phone until my contract comes up and I can purchase another one at a reasonable price. My old phone has no bells and whistles. No flip phone, no camera, just the standard free phone. It might have a crack in the front...but, it works and it has better reception than my non-working, metal flaking around the front, hinge cracking, screen with a line in it, $ $ 183 dollar phone!
Pros:
Cool features
Flash in the camera
Cons:
Poorly manufactured.
