Yep! it is FINALLY here baby!

Nov 29, 2005 by JasonBrent71

i have been with sprint for years now, but a year ago or so i thought about going with cingular so i could get the razr. but that thought soonly went away when i found out how horrible cingulars service is! so i waited hoping something would come along and now it is here! "good things happen to those who wait" is a real life event! this phone is great and i agree with the other reviews on this site that sprints power visions is the best! great prices for lots of great things.
well worth the wait!! A+++

Uninspired but still functional... barely.

Let me first say that I do not own this phone, I use it at work. Therefore a lot of the more flashy features of this phone are lost on me. All I need is a good, solid phone, with great ease of use, and smart, logical design.

That being said, the Software of this phone (don't know the version) is quite disappointing. Navigation is somewhat unintuitive, often the information displayed can be confusing, and the font sucks. I'm not at all a fan of Motorola's font, which this phone seems to copy.

A do a lot of phone calls at work, let me tell you, the call management on this phone is quite bad. Perhaps it is the software, but often times, switching between calls produces silence, or the connection is never regained. And every time I begin to dial a number, and suddenly RECEIVE a call, it locks up the phone and there is no way to answer the call, nor send it to voicemail. You can only stare at your phone as it rings the 15-20 times, as it will not respond to any button push. Overall, Samsung seems to have dropped the ball here and failed to provide a phone with simple, logical design for the most essential part of the phone: making and receiving calls.

AS far as the form-factor goes, it disappoints less. Apparently, this phone is more about the style than the substance, and is obviously Samsung's answer to the Razr. Although in my opinion, it almost feels like the Razr was Motorola's answer to THIS phone. Motorola's package is decidely more sexy, while the A900's design seems to be a more conservative sibling with the same set of good looks. I'm sure it's a matter of taste.

All-in-all, if you are looking for a RAZR alternative then this might be a good idea, but those who need less flash and more substance might want to look elsewhere.

Samsung A900

BEAUTIFUL, QUALITY, SLIM, SLEEK,
FEATURE Packed!
Pros:

With 47 Mb of internal memory, phone
can record ample videos, and quite a
few songs.

Probably the nicest phone I've ever owned,
metal construction holds up to more than
a few drops.

The nicest display I've ever seen!

Cons:

Speakerphone could be a bit louder.

Pretty Nifty

I agree with everyone. I was a former Samsung/current Sanyo owner (that N400 just left a BAD taste in my mouth and I never went back).

This phone has a lot of nice features. The battery life does suck.

One other thing, I beamed a document to the device, I have no idea where it is! It went through and I have checked every folder but no luck! Yikes! I stated it was a vCard but it was a Word doc. Any help?

Cool Features but Too Bulky & Wide

Dec 28, 2005 by imonkey

I was so excited to get this phone. But when I actually started using it, I was displeased. Mainly b/c of how wide the phone was. Unless you have big ears it was uncomfortable. The phone was cool features to it but just couldn't get over the phone size.

I waited for nothing

I finally got this phone and as soon as the day was over, I wanted to throw it against the wall. It sucks. It looks cool but works like poop. Tsk tsk Samsung. Why don't you guys just stick to making DLP Tv's.

Cons

Battery life
keypad
T-9 is ridiculous
signal strength is the worst I have ever experienced
Screen is glarey
Speakerphone sucks (distorted)
camera is blurry

PRO's
GOOD PAPER WEIGHT

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE

Mar 3, 2007 by bfoumia

I had this phone for almost 1 year and the first month i had it i loved it but after that IT WAS THE WORST PHONE the battery sucks and it will allways give me the worst problems i will never RECEMEND this phone to anyone

This phone is off the hook !!!

This is the best phone I have owned. I bought this phone a couple of days ago with new sprint service and this phone has everything I need. Signal strength is excellent here in NYC, sound quality is good and the slim design looks cool. Way better than the RAZR. Battery life on this phone isn't all that bad, I get a full day of battery life with moderate use of this phone. Just turn off the GPS location feature, and set the brightness to the lowest setting and the backlight to 8 seconds and watch the battery life go up. Also, do not put your phone on vibrate, that will also kill your battery life. Other than that, this is a great phone and it deserves a 5.

PROS:
-slim design
-1.3 MP cam with video recorder
-built in media player
-sprint TV
-best screen resolution
-integrated 50 MB of memory for music and pics

CONS:
-I have no cons on this phone, I absolutely love everything about it

In my opinion, if you're looking for a slim phone with amazing features, then this is the phone for you.

Got it. Love it!

I've had the phone for 5 days now and love it. Yes the battery life is weak compared to some other phones, but only if you are using the Sprint TV and multi-media services all the time. On the first day or two when I was using (playing) with all the MM features, I had to charge it up a couple of times. Now that I've settled into a somewhat normal usage pattern (voice, MM, BT), I easily go the whole day between charges. I am not so sure that any phone this slim that plugged into Sprint's MM network and was used as much would have dramatically better battery life - if it's that much of an issue for you you should go for a fatter phone.

That being said, in addition to longer battery life, there's still plenty of room for future improvements - more memory to use with the MP3 player and/or some sort of memory expansion slot would be my wish list.

Great Phone 1 real complaint

Dec 28, 2005 by wells2269

I agree with all the pro's.....Great phone....I havent had any problems. My only complaint is the battery is horrible...I had to buy a converter for the car so I can use my wall charger since there is no car charger for the phone yet. Also...1 minor complaint...T9 does not "learn" words. Otherwise Im very happy with the phone...I had a 7400...went to the new MM-9000....and for the price it should have bluetooth....went back and traded for the Blade...less money and with bluetooth. The memory is enough for me.
