Best phone Ever Had
This is the best phone i ever had it has all i need and then sum.My last phone motorola v220 was horrible the screen went black and the earpeice on phone was to low so i bought a Sony Ericsson z500a
PROs:
ALL OF PHONE!!!
CONs:
Battery could last longer, but still a good phone.
I RECCOMEND THIS PHONE TO EVERYONE!!!
lol this reminds me of da old huge phones
I got this phone when i swtiched 2 Cingular so i was like this phone has so many abilities. So i got it. I had about 150+ numbers 2 type into my phone. And my god da buttons on that phones suxs. it was 1 of the worst thing ever. Then i wanted 2 check da features on da phones so i did. While loading programs i felt like i was useing my computer i had 8 years ago useing it 2day. It was so slow. Actually calling people was not a pleaseure either. It was like useing a long skinny book it suxed. Basicly i learned that i realli liked Samsung phones that day because they r tight and they are not a pain 2 use. And Nokia has the best reception out of all da phones.
Decent Phone
I've been using this phone for 10 months now. One feature few mention is the ability to sync with Outlook for calendar, contacts, meetings, etc. This is a GREAT feature and the software is free. The data cable can be had on ebay for less than $10.
Pros:
- good build, not great
- GREAT reception
- decent camera
- Outlook sync'g
- good speakerphone
- I like the clunky size. Many phones are too tiny, especially the keys. Not here.
Cons:
- headset connection is on bottom
- dust does collect on faceplate- cleaning is easy.
- non standard hands free cord interface
Overall it's a good phone. Of course its successor is supposed to be great. But free like it is now?
good, but looking for new one
i've owned this phone for a long time now and i really like it except for the fact that it's so chunky. it's an excellent phone, just the appearance is yuck
~*Pros*~
very easy to use
big memory storage(as long as you don't download too many games or ringtones, like me)
long battery life
nice camera
long video time
loud ringtones
easy to switch to silent
cool menu
easy to use phonebook
can record your own ringtones
has an alarm clock (needed for school)
nice speakerphone
keeps track of time and cost (aka how many messages and minutes you're using)
has stopwatch and timer
removable faceplate
durable
can edit pictures
large buttons, easy to read and navigate
easy to read lettering
awesome icons to let you know you have a voicemail or text message
charges quickly
~*Cons*~
very chunky (i'm small and don't carry a purse, so it's hard to carry it around without dropping it all the time)
lighting on camera not very good
battery dies quickly when you use the phone all day
you can't replace the whole cover of the phone, only the faceplate and backplate, making it look funky
say i send a message to another cingular customer, they don't get it for a few hours or couple of days sometimes
flip cover makes horrible, loud clicking noice when opened
camera is not silent, even when the phone is on silent (aka, don't use camera in class! you will be caught!)
can't delete some original ringtones or pictures set to the phone
buttons chip off easily
not all phone covers come with glass over camera lense (like when you get it off a website)
sometimes when you drop it, the screen goes blue and you can't turn it off, in which case you take off back cover and pull out battery, put back in, and turn on
i'm looking for a new one because i'm sick of dropping mine all the time and it's huge! i love the phone's options and how it works, but the outside is fugly. me and my best friend call it the microwave.. lol
Nothing but a Lemon
Although this phone may have some fun toys, gadgets, and looks, there is little to recommend it long-term. I purchased this phone in March from Cingular in the Dallas area.
The phone worked great for about 60 days, then randomly turned itself off and quit accepting a charge. I have exchanged it four times under the warranty, and each Z500 they have replaced it with has had the exact same problem within 45-60 days.
After 6 months, I asked them to give me a completely different phone model, that I did not want the Z500 under any circumstances! I am happy to say they replaced it with the s710a, which I am extremely pleased with.
Guess you just never know which phone is going to be a complete lemon.
Worthless.....
ok... Ill get right into it:
CONS:
-Too Bulky
-Casing is as worthless as tits on a hog
-Caller ID screen collects a crazy amoutn od dirt.
-dropped calls, dropped calls, dropped calls...
-THIS SOFTWARE SUCKS!!!! Is it just me or does this phone freeze up if you press button too fast? This is my second phone and it still freezes up!
-Buttons are too small, tuff to press.
-Ringer sucks...
-Vibrate doesnt vibrate enough...
-Speaker phone blows...
-Video is too choppy
There are more CONS, but its just pissing me off talking about it so no more...
Believe it or not, there are a few PROS (emphasis on FEW)
PROS:
- no visible antenna
- I thought it had good battery life, some will disagree.
- DECENT pics (not great)
- ....Gimme a sec....Im trying to think of more things here.....OH YES!! Clear calls (when you actually stay connected)
Well, compared to OTHER phones ive had, its SURELY not the best, but definetly NOT the worst... Not worth $80 though....
Only worth it if you got the phone for free in my eyes...
Sony shoulda stuck with candy bars...
Waited for this phone for years upon seeing it on the SE site about 2 - 3 years ago.. DISSAPPOINTED, but first time buyers will appreciate it and it's low price.
I bought it for full price cuz i've wanted it for years
I judged it soley on what it has not compared to other models of higher class
sounds contradicting of my review bashing it, but it gets a 4.5 out of 5 stars
minus 0.5 for no bluetooth/infrared
(IM BEING NICE :D)
Cons:
- slow menus common on SE models
- below par screen. would deduct whole star how ugly it is, but it is STN
- no bluetooth or IR
I like making mp3 ringtones for friends/family
no bluetooth means no way of sharing pix, vids, mp3s.
- it's not proportionate. its big size makes the screen look tiny
- no memory expansion
it has video recorder and mp3 player, but no room to store it
- cheap material/construction
- too many complaints from others. don't all the bad reviews make you not consider it?
PROS:
- Good call quality
- Good speakerphone quality but bad implement of it
- Has many good features. mp3 player. camera/video recorder. EDGE
- 3-D games. but games on a phone is never fun
- EDGE works great really fast
Final Thoughts:
the only people who think the screen, camera, or speakerphone is nice plain and simply have had BAD phones or have never owned a phone with a color display. example, if you had a moto v221 or an lgl400, of course you'll think this screen is "GREAT"
i'm 15, i personally use a SE s710a, RAZR, and have a nokia 6620 and 6230 collecting dust.. so i think the phone sucks.
BUT!!!! i do recommend it to:
- first time phone buyers becuase they'll be amazed at "what they got for so cheap
- People who aren't technology savvy
- People on a budget
so if you're a first time buyyer and dont want to spend too much get this, but if you want a better phone for not much more money, i personally recommend a motov551 because i personally own one.
hope this helps!!!!
Worst phone I've had
The first few days I had this phone I thought it was great. I'm a feature freak so I tried to find the phone with the most features for the least money and I thought I found the perfect phone. But, as usual you get what you pay for. I got this phone and the first problem I found was the weakness of the faceplate especially after it is taken off more than once. It got so bad that I was able to shoot the faceplate off about 10 feet with a flick of my finger, eventually I had to get another faceplate which works better and is stronger than the one made by Sony. Then I saw that there was a defect in the screen. This wouldn't have bothered me on other phones but the screen is so small on this one, so it was really stood out. My phone would also randomly turn off on me not to mention the blue screen that would come on and stay there unless the battery was taken out. The battery also proposed a problem because if i made frequent calls or played a game, it would die out with out even one full day's use. The reason I didn't give this phone a zero was because of the amount of features in the phone for the price and because it is very durable. If I were you, I would go with either the samsung p207 or moto v551 which seem to have many of the same features in a close price range.
very very nice phone
well this phone is the best one i had
pros
easy to use, menu, all things are very easy
great speed
clear screen
camera
video(not to many phones have)
egprs(edge)faster
2nd display outside with color
speaker phone
usb(it should be the normal one not the sony Ericsson but its ok)
loud sound
photo id
cons
the screen could be a LCD
screen could be bigger
no blue tooth or infrared
its a great phone i recommend you to buy it if your planning to buy a cell phone ohh also its cheap and nice
