i love this phone........
so after many fights with cingular to exchange my moto v551 which i liked but had to many problems and didn't have a equal replacement. you know like that uncle in your family. i just decided i'd go buy another phone i really liked.
i did and these are my opinions......
PROS:
big screen and amazing color and quality it really sticks out.
swivel form factor. to bad i have a girl because chicks really dig it...lol.
mp3 player with external memory.
email clients good for people who need to check email on the go.
1.3mp camera.even has night mode. i love the shutter over the lens. it gives the feel of a full-out digital camera. video shots are nice too. you can even do a little crop to send to phones that can't receive large amounts of data at one time.
fast data connection with edge
reception is the best of any phone i have ever owned.
all of its simple features are taken to the max i.e. the datebook, call manager, etc... all have a for the grown up only feel.
bluetooth and infared......wow
there is way more but i'll calm down now.
CONS:
a little bulky but all the features of this phone make up for it.
os can get slow at times.
battery dies quickly (15 hours) if you have bluetooth connected all day.
only 128mb of memory but it is external.
not replaceable anymore because it's now discontinued (the w600i makes me hesitant. let's hope i don't need a replacement). this is not a con though.
for those that like it, the look of this phone is not that customizeable. i like its look but some i know say it need a little more flare.
well there is my review i love this phone and plan on keeping it for a while. sony ericsson has mad this first time SE owner very happy. let's see if they can continue to.
Unbeileveable phone
I've had this phone sense the day it came out. Truly, if your a guy more about features than about looks, this is the phone for you.
Pros:
It has every feature there is. Some phones have things that others dont, but this has everything
Gets good service. only drops calls on 1 or no bars
Great mp3 player
Great usb connecting to computer
Never freezes up.
Never get missed calls
Never get missed messages
Everything in general is unbelievable.
CONS:
Bad battery life, only last 2 days on standby
Camera blurs ALOT!!
AIM takes along time to load.
Not worth it
I had this phone for a short period. Had to send it back due to horrible call quality. I live in Minneapolis and have not had issues with phones dropping calls. When I got this phone I was truly disappointed, I would be looking at a middle of the range reception and would experience dropped calls or garbled reception.
It was too bad as I am all about trying out the newest technology. Finally getting a phone with a Megapixel Camera was going to be nice, but I must not have been able to get it set up correctly since every pic I took was blurry. It looked like a night shot from a digi camera. If you don't hold it perfectly still then it blurs out.
Swivel was a bit weird, it seemed that it opened backwards, so it was very hard to get used to.
HUGE screen, would have been great with games, but I couldn't figure out how to keep the backlight on during lulls in the game. It was constantly going dark on me.
Phone was way tooooo bulky. I am not going to wear something on my belt, you look like you are imitating Batman. So any phone that I carry goes in the pocket. This one weighed so much and was so thick that it looked horrible in my pocket.
All in all it was a nice idea, but had a long way to go.
Good luck if you buy this may be exactly what you are looking for or it may be a waste of time.
It Is one of the best phones yet
i have to say wow i never owned a SonyEricsson Before always owned motos and i have to say its really good to finally swicth.its much better then the razr and the v360moto... ringtones is great mp3s and pictures on this phone is great video so so not like the moto v635. but okay so far memory card usb software great package got this phone unlocked for tmobile and i got settings for my wap and mms also email so if your planning to get this phone go ahead its great.
Excellent Phone.....sometimes
I purchased this phone a few months ago and like almost everyone else I loved it. After having it a while though I found a few things wrong
Pros
-Attention getter no matter who's around
-Camera and viewfinder are on point
-Swivel Camera Layout is genius
-Music player is easy to use
-Call log is layed out well
-You can get up to 2gb of memory
Cons
-You can't get the most out of you bluetooth
-Really hard to find one unlocked
-Zooming ruins the quality of the pictures
-Picks up a lot of ambient noise
-Bulky
-The music will not go through the bluetooth even with bt headphones
-I wish it had a keyboard somehow
All in all the phone is extremely entertaining but not perfect. Definitely worth getting.
Great Phone.
Almost perfect, if it was a little smaller it would be the best phone ever.
Does anyone have one in very good condition they would like to trade for a like new black razr v3?
Email me.
THIS PHONE ROCKS
This phone is amazing. , I just got this phone and I cannot put it down.
Pros:
Giant Screen
Bluetooth
Media Player
Reception is awesome
Swivel design Rocks
Camera is one of the best on any cell phone
Lens over camera is sweet
Cons:
Battery life seems to be a problem but I use my phone constantly so who cares.
All in all, if you are a cell phone fanatic, this is the phone to get. So many features and so hard to put down.
Sony Ericsson and Cingular distributed one of the greatest phones ever.
Great job Cingular/Sony Ericsson
Excellent phone
Finally a phone that does what you need. It even comes with a 32MB memory stick duo and a card reader for your computer. And the phone has 32 MB of memory!
Pros
Everything that's not a con
Email
ICQ, AIM and 3 others
large screen
great camera
can be used as an mp3 player
cones with headphones
has a lock keys button on the side
Cons
1. Once you set up your ICQ or AIM account on the phone there's no way to go back and reenter a different username and/or password unless you reset the phone
2. When setting up your email there's no way to input an @ sign in the username even if your provider requires it.
3. screen may eventually get scratched
4. Tri-band and not quad-band (don't know why they didn't add the extra frequency)
Great phone. And believe me I am definately picky about my phones.
Overal Best Phone On The Market That Is Not A PDA
Well first off I want to say that ThaKOD does not know what he is talking about here are some of the things he said that makes him sound like a complete IDIOT. After each question is my answer to why he is an IDIOT.
Him -- MP3 quality is great, especially if you have a 128MB memory card and use if for an MP3 player as well.
Me -- MP3 quality sux. It does not put the songs in order and you can't rewind or . But it is still awesome that I can play MP3s on my phone. I am going to a 1 Gigabyte memory stick for it so I can take my music with me.
Him -- MP3 quality is very clear.
Me -- It is not very clear is OK but like I said it is still awesome to have this feature on my phone.
Him -- Camera can't take pictures in low lighting even with the light on.
Me -- If he knew how to work the camera correctly he would be able to take better shots in low light conditions with lights on by turning off the Spot Photometry feature in his camera menu (wow he needs to get a brain before writing a review)
Him -- Speakerphone is low.
Me -- Actually the speaker phone is one of the best I have heard. The only phones that have better speaker phones are the from Nextel because they need to be cause of the push to talk feature. (By the way I hate Motorola phones. They all have horrible menu set ups and weak on the amount of features.)
Him -- Voice record with the video is low.
Me -- Again what do you expect from a phone it is still the best audio I have ever heard from a video phone. He needs to at least know what else is out there before he makes a comment
Overall this the best phone I have ever had and seen. There is not any other phone that is better than this one other than a PDA and those are too bulky. I used to be a hardcore LG fan and hated Sony and Motorola. I still hate Motorola but now Sony is the top dog.
I had the RAZR and it had a weak camera and now features other than blue tooth. (NO VIDEO?)
Thanx,
Blake
