Great Phone!

Dec 4, 2006 by danyel84

I have had this phone for about a month, and like it a lot. First thing that I want to do is address something said in another review- It was said that a 1 GB card will only hold a few songs on this phone, and it's not true. I have a 1 GB card and have over 50 songs on it, and only used about 1/3 of the memory. It must have been the format of the song downloaded by that person. Now that that is done:

PROS- Phone has every feature you could ever need, speakerphone, bluetooth, mp3 player, mobile web (verizon's internet service), camera. All work well. Speaker and the phone itself is loud. Battery life is great; I charge mine 2 times a week.

CONS- Camera resolution for the price of the phone isn't that great. It's good for a phone, but if you want a better camera on a phone and have/want Verizon, go with the Samsung 990 (3 mp camera!) or the Lg enV (2 mp). The speaker for the music isn't that great. If you put it on too loud, it gets scratchy and odd sounding.

Overall, it is a great phone and works fantastic. I have never dropped a call in it and can always hear everyone clearly.

Krzr k1m sprint

Dec 3, 2006 by kezeka

When i went about searching for a phone about 2 months ago, i had no idea this phone existed, when i found out what it was a gawked at the price and found it hilarious that anyone in their right mind would buy it. I guess I'm a self proclaimed moron...

It came down to this phone or the m900, they are almost identical and technically pretty equal (screen res and memory card) in the end the big thing that won me over was the fact that i could use this phone as a USB drive if i so pleased to carry things around and listen to music whenever or wherever. I know - alot of phone can do this and how much music do i seriously need on me, i agree, its a gimmick but i based some power on that. The real thing that swung me away from the m900 was the styling of the phone, its beautiful! The front glass is very impressive, and can be used as a mirror, if you don't want to use the LCD that behind it for that purpose. The fact that the entire phone is black just makes it seem very executive and very very sleek. Every person who has seen this phone has had a positive comment about its looks, and how easily it can be held compared to the bulky wide razr. On that note, it is much much narrower than the razr, about half the size, i didn't realize this until i compared it to a friends razr and decided that it was too wide for my liking. The fact that its narrower requires the the keys are a bit more consolidated (found this out while entering my 100 contacts from my 3 year old nokia into this one) but the keys just invite you to press them, they feel smooth yet, there is absolutely not slip and slide from button to button, not "woops i screwed up typing the number" incidents, and the key size has not been a problem. The menu system is a bit laggy, but not to the point where it is bothersome. The music you upload from your computer cannot be used as a ring tone (sprint defect). The back of the phone feels rubberized - inviting.

despite defects, i recommend.

Looks and works great, perfect size

I got this KRZR phone about a month ago, and am very glad I did. I previously had the original RAZR, and was extremely disappointed with that. So, I was very skeptical about getting the KRZR. It works great--sound and call clarity is great on both ends, battery life good, and reception is the best I've seen. And, of course, the phone looks very elegant, and is the perfect size for both making calls, and keeping in a shirt pocket.

Step up

I picked up my KRZR this past weekend and love it. It was well worth the extra cost (if you have NE2). I would have second thoughts about paying $200 for any phone. I am moving up from a v276 that I hated (had to replace 4 times). The KRZR feels well made and sounds great. I do not use the extra features like MP3 player or camera. I just want a phone that will last and work as a phone. I have a good feeling about the KRZR. The only thing I don't like is the external display does not dim and stay on. I like using my phone like a watch.

Crazy about the KRZR

Nov 29, 2006 by beeper3000

Just got the KRZR on Saturday and like it very much, no wait, i love it!! the only thing i don't like its VZW interface, but thats not really a problem a phone is for making phone calls, not a pretty display.

If your thinking of buying this phone, then buy it, you'll be glad you did!

THERE IS A SOFTWARE GLITCH!!!

Nov 22, 2006 by aslongasitworks

Has anyone else heard about the fact that you cannot assign individual ringtones to people in your contact list? Verizon tech support says that this is a software bug with the KRZR K1m. There is going to be a patch available however they didnt know when that patch would be available. Is this just a Verizon issue or are other carriers seeing this. If it wasn't for this issue, I would have given this phone a higher rating.

KRZR on Verizon disappointing

I have had my Motorola KRZR K1m from Verizon for one week, and I am going to return it this weekend. Here's why:

CONS
-Battery life is awful. Certain phones have this problem, certain don't. Mine cannot go more than about 16 hrs of normal use before needing a recharge.
-Phone is always smudged with fingerprints that are very visible. Either you will spend your whole life wiping off the front of the phone, or you will always have a messy-looking phone.
-No way to start music player without opening the phone (on Verizon)
-No way to turn off low battery warning beeps
-No way to turn off missed call beeps
-No convenient way to put phone in silence/manners/vibrate mode
-Non-flash Verizon UI is very clunky and not very customizable.
-Higher frequencies get very distorted on the speaker, even at moderate volumes

There are many good things about the phone too.

PROS:
-Phone is beautifully constructed out of top-quality materials, and feels great in your hand. Narrow form factor makes it much easier to hold than a normal RAZR.
-Music player buttons on the outside are very cool looking
-Camera is decent

I think this is one of the best looking phones on the market, and was very excited when it came out for Verizon. However, the problems I mentioned above make this phone unbearable for me. I am returning it and going back to my Samsung a670 until the LG VX8600 comes out.

Great looking phone with average features.

Upgrade from Audiovox CDM8900 since I had the new every2 with Verizon. I wanted a phone with removable memory so I can actually transfer my pics to my computer without having to message it. Also, I wanted a phone that plays mp3 cuz I don't want to carry another music player around.

If you want a great looking phone, this is it. If you want an mp3 player, its not so great for that. I only use it to listen to music a few times a day, so for me, its ok. I'm keeping it just cuz I'm blinded by its beauty and it does what I wanted it to do, make phone calls. Heh.

PROs
1. Looks great with good sturdy feel to it.
2. Good signal, no drop calls.
3. Earpiece and speaker is nice and loud.
4. Bluetooth works great.
5. Removable memory.
6. Plays music. Sort of a bonus for me.
7. Good battery life.
8. Fast web access.

CONs
*1. Smudge very easily. Annoying at times.
*2. MP3 control on front is very sensitive. Can't hold the phone without hitting those buttons. Also, the music stop after the last song and there's no repeat or continuous play option. You'll need to make a playlist to keep it going.
*3. Pics on the phone looks fuzzy. Fine on PC.
*4. Can't access pics saved on the phone's memory from the PC. Have to transfer it to the removable memory to get to them.
*5. Voice command doesn't work so good. Saying the name of your contacts returns wrong matches. Best to just say the numbers. But even better to just open the phone and manually select your contacts.
*6. No ring + vibrate without having to turn the vibrate feature on in the Tools menu.

Should have returned this within the 15 days

Honestly the ONLY good quality about of this phone is its looks. And it does look very very cool.

Primary complaint: earpiece sound is bad

There must be a lot of really bad sounding phones out there because most of the reviews I read before purchasing gave good to great ratings for sound quality. This phone is a significant downgrade from any of my previous phones (qualcomm 860, moto v60i, samsung a670). On the highway I often have to ask my friends to repeat themselves (and btw my BMW is not especially loud in the cabin).

The hinge and packaging are rock solid (best flip hinge I've seen yet), and that goes a long way with me. But the battery shifts back and forth a bit, giving an otherwise rock-solid device a cheapish feel at times.

Despite the sleek design, I find the shape a bit awkward as a handset. I do like the keypad though.

Also, no vibe+ring (verizon), wired headset requires adapter.

Pros:
-very sexy looking
-nice display
-rock solid feel except for battery
-good battery life
-speakerphone seems decent
-decent camera

Cons:
-bad earpiece sound quality
-awkward in hand (samsung a670 more natural)
-slight play in battery latch is annoying
-no vibe+ring (verizon software)
-wired headset requires adapter
-only 1/5 of external screen used for time, no date shown (2 lines wasted on "verizon wireless")
