Motorola KRZR K1m
Average Ratings
KRZR from Verizon
I purchased this phone wanting a sleeker, more "modern" looking phone. I paid full price, not one who can wait for the new every 2 policy. I have to say I am very pleased with this phone.
PROS:
The look - Verizon does not usually have the more "modern" looking phone, but this phone has "the look"
Feel - the slimness of the phone feels right at home in the hand
Rubberized backing
Excellent battery life
Sound quality is good
CONS:
My only real complaint is that I wish that you could purchase it in other colors, but I am sure that within time they will have other colors, but thats the price you pay when you want to own the first of something.
Great Phone!
I just got this about 1 week ago.I have been testing out almost every feature. So far I love the phone. I like a small phone that i can but in my pocket without the bulky feeling.
*I know alot of people were complaining about the finger prints on the outside case. That is true. I did come across something cool on Amazon. It is a silicon cover that fits like a clove over the outside casing. It's not bulky at all. It is a tight fit. It comes in black or white. Check it out, it definitely helps with the finger print issues.
Pros:
Small, fits in your pocket
Clear screen
load ring tones
style
Good battery
Good reception(verizon)
Cons:
Speaker phone does not turn off will not in use like the e815 did.
Finger prints
Krazr - Great phone but then again, I have Alltel
It's hilarious listening to people complain about the phone when they should be complaining about Verizon who likes to choke off the phones capabilities..
I don't know who said you can start the music without opening the flip - maybe this is a Verizon thing again? - With my Alltel version you can most definately stop and start the music without ever opening your phone.
Pros
Phone feels great in your hand, not unlike the Razor but I like that this is a bit narrower even if it is a bit longer.
Best reception I have got from a phone bar-none including the Razr, Nokia 6235, and others.
Screen is crisp and sharp.
Bluetooth OBEX works perfect, I can copy pictures, ringtones, videos, etc right to my phone without having to install anything special. (sorry again Verizon users)
Bluetooth works great.
Battery life has been great.
MP3s sound very clear.
I like the clear-coat on the outside. People are complaining about it but I think it sets the phone apart from others.
Cons
Camera still sucks
No flash
That's about it for me...I think it's a great phone...I wouldn't say it's revolutionary over the Razr, merely evolutionary..A great phone nonetheless..
good, but a few annoyances
i received my new krzr k1m yesterday from motorala. i'm impressed with the look and feel of the phone. it has a more expensive look and feel than the past few phones i've had from motorala.
my only gripes with the phone have to do with the ui. i miss several of the shortcuts that i was used to on my previous few motorola phones. especially with txt msging it feels that there are quite a few extra steps needed in order to send a simple a txt. additionally the ui is quite sluggish in comparison to past phones i've used.
finally i feel everything on the phone is oriented to get you to spend more money with verizon. the easiest shortcuts are all to verizon add ons for ringtones, etc, while using basic functions requires additional steps.
this would be a great phone if it were not for verizon's ui. as past reviewers have said, verizon should stick with motorola's original ui.
Great Phone!!
I worked for Verizon for 5 years and became a bit of a phone hound. I like to try out all the new phones but have been really disappointed in alot of the new phones in the last year. I had the moto v265 then the moto 815 for awhile and it would "freeze" up on me all the time when I was messaging and the screen went out three times so I bought a Razr. It was ok. nice size and good reception but I couldn't text on the keypad very well. Friends have LG's including the 8300 and Chocolate. After using them I was not sold. LG makes a well built phone but they never have the reception that my moto's have. I live in Wyoming so reception is sketchy at times. The new KRAZR came out and I was skeptical but tried it. I am very satisfied! The phone has a great feel, sturdy, rubberized backside and I can text at least twice as fast as I could on the Razr. It has a slightly different format for messaging that after you get used to is way faster. MP3 player is good but I really don't use it. I message and make lots of phone calls. ringers are loud enough. voice dialing is great, speakerphone works well! Battery lasts longer than my razr. Even on a day with lots of messaging and calls I have not had battery issues.
Pro's:
Size
Appearance!!
Rubber back for great "feel"
Speakerphone
Call Quality and reception
Battery
Usb Charging port
Removable memory
Cons:
Can't turn reminder beep off for missed calls!!
overall this is the best Moto I have had since the tri mode Star-Tac.
Great Phone!!!!!
This phone is what the razr should have been from the get go!
pros:
Fits in the hand much better
Narrow is better
Great looking phone
Alltel has an mp3 player finally
Rubber backing
Brighter screens
oh did i mention mp3 player
No branding on the phone from alltel
speaker sounds really good
Can access the mp3 player without having to open the phone.
reception is great
ear volume is great
fits better from ear to mouth
Cons:
None cause its not Verizon its Alltel
I like it A LOT
I can see nothing wrong with this phone. The resolution is really good if you download some decent wallpaper. probably the best phone verizon has put out....of course i wish the screen was a little bigger but the battery IS lasting a long time....on my third day but i turn it off at night. software is a little slow, but i hardly notice it. i downloaded ringers and wallpaper and am now very happy to have this phone....i have a feeling everyone will have it eventually though :)
Overall Good Phone
I bought this with my NE2 last week. I love the form factor and the look of the phone and I like how they put the smart buttons back on the bottom of the flip.
What I don't like is:
- The Verizon UI of course, as always, sucks.
- You can't turn the reminder beeps off for missed calls
- Protective cover over mini USB jack
- Screen Resolution could be a little better
Anyone have the USB drivers? Can't wait to see what the Alltell flash looks like.
I still have another week left on my trial period. I might return it -- I might not. *shrug*
Ooooh! REALLY Trendy!
This phone is soooooo cooooool! LOOKING. The reviews that are saying it has all the same features of the RAZR but in a cooler form factor are right.
It also has all the problems...
Pros:
-Ridiculously Good-looking!
Cons:
-Its a RAZR underneath that cooler form factor.
-Slow OS
-Keypad not easy to text on
-The display is much smaller now
And the list goes on and on. Bottom line:
DON'T GIVE INTO THE TRENDS! You'll regret buying this phone, especially if you've owned, well, ANY OTHER phone!
To get more details on why this phone sucks read my review on the RAZR V3m https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/user_reviews.php?phone=953 entitled "Ooooh! Trendy!"
Good, but still just a phone.
Let's just put this into perspective. This is just a phone and not that different than others that are already on the market. It's thinner than the RAZR, but slightly fatter and longer. Besides that, it's a marginally better mp3 player than the V3m, but otherwise exactly the same functionality.
The glossy cover is attracts fingerprints like crazy, so don't get this phone if that bothers you.
