Average Ratings
v180
I really enjoy this phone, I love the speaker on it ringtone and have good sig!!! the on problem I have with this phone is that phone will not get incoming calls in this Downtown Atlanta GA..
V188 is a tough cookie
I had this phone for a year, and I didn't have problems with it.
I dropped it quite a few times, it got wet, it was abused! And it still kept running.
The only thing that happened was, in the last month that I had it, the "9" key was getting worn out, and I had to push it harder.
It's a simple phone, not very exciting, but it'll last!
Great Phone! V188
This phone not only gets good reception with T-Mobile, it has a nice design and color. Dialing is not a problem the buttons are seperated so you know what number you are pressing. External ID caller is great. Very sturdy phone I have dropped my V188 many times on concrete and tile floors and the phone continues to work fine.
Pros:
1. Small Size
2. Sleek Design
3. Durability
4. Bright Key Pad and Screen
5. Good Speaker-phone
Cons:
1. Small Internal Screen
2. No Camera
Good for a free phone
This phone came free with my cellphone plan. Despite being a free phone, I have never had a problem with it. I have dropped it numerous times on tile, asphalt, concrete etc... and it still works just as well as when I first got it.
Can't Recommend
Cons
This phone is a POS. By the time you get thru some menus to voice dial you could have dialed the yourself. Always a screen problem also. Simms suk!when you get the phone the sales people tell you you can store 500 entries, but don't tell you the Simms only holds 250. Have fun moving your phonebooks.
Pros
Small and light
Motorola.... Why?
If you get it for free, chances are it's gonna be bad... that's just what we have here:
Pros:
Faceplates
OK Speakerphone
Cons:
Bad Reception
Crappy ringtones
gets scratched easy
not a good screen
Definitely good
I love my V180. I know people on here have had problems with reception and I have found that more than one person has had problems with that. On the other hand, I have never had any problems with it. I love the lil compact design and the outer display for Caller ID. I love the fact that all I have to do is touch a button on the side if I don't want to talk to someone.
Pros:
1)Caller ID on the outside
2)Great speakerphone
3)Great Menu display very easy to use
Cons:
1)Battery life (maybe it's just me being on the phone too much)
OK phone.
When the V180 first came out on Cingular it had a few problems, but they seem to be fixed with the newest ones. If you can get one cheap it is a good little phone.
Pro- Lots of features for the money.
Con- Plastic housing seems very cheap.
V188 From T-Mobile
I bought this phone for T-Mobile prepaid a few days ago. I did alot with it in the last few days. I'm not good at giving reviews and such, so I will just give pros and cons below.
Pros:
Reception: Very good, I took my Samsung X495 from T-Mobile back because of the reception problems with the phone in my basement. The samsung would only get 0 to 1 bar, and drop calls, and the Motorola V188 gets top of 4 bars and no droped cars or cut outs.
Speakerphone: Very loud, can be used with flip closed, and quality is not distorted when turned up. People on the other line can hear you very well.
Keypad Lighting: Very bright, the blue light lights up very neatly on the keys.
Case/Design: Nice looking, plastic is very shiny and very smooth, sometimes hard to grip, I droped it once due to this.
USB Mini Port: Very NICE feature!! It takes some real computer work to figure out, but as soon as you get it working, it works wonders!
MP3 Ringtones: They sound nice, I recorded them from MP3 on my computer sized it down, and transfured them. They sound very good! Not to mention the editing you can do with your phone via the USB Cable
Cons:
Outer Screen: The one on my Motorola T720 looked much better in blue, then the ulgy off white they use now.
Charger: Takes FOREVER to charge.
Screen is a STN screen, it has slow refreshes, and has a grinny look to it.
Voice Dial: This phone does not have simple voice dial, you actually have to go into a menu to access the recorder for voice dial, unlike my T720 where you just hit a side quick button.
No Date: There is no option to show the date on the screen or the outter screen, its very annoying.
ITAP: ITAP is slow, unable to learn words, and does not make your txt expericene any faster.
Backwords Buttons: The Send button is where the END button should be, and the END button is where the SEND button should be, makes me send calls to voice mail alot. That gets annoying!
There is more, but I cant fit it! sorry.
hi for all gsm phones v400 v551 v600 for all
hi i think the problem is its either or the phone or the person using it the carrier or company like cingular they dont seem like they know what there doing and i dont think there telling us the truth and they need to improve there customer service big time need more hours and need to be open on sunday and i think there service men who go out and fix these towers may not know what there doing or saying either or tech support and they need more of a selection of phones than what they have. they just make up excuses some of them so they dont have to deal with youre problem and the exchange by mail stinks big time it should be done at the store locally where you live and no refurbished phones new ones only please feel free to email me at
