iPhone 3g. THE JESUS PHONE.

Jul 19, 2008 by stefone461

Okay this device may be missing a few things but is still best device out there. I see a lot of people giving advice and feed back about the iPhone 3g but some of these people don't actually own the device. I don't know if maybe it's because they want one and can't afford it or what. But I think you should only give opinions about a devices you have actually owned. Me personally I think this is THE JESUS PHONE. Okay it may be missing a few things but that's what the updates are for. I don't know of any other phones out there that can get updates to make the device better. But no one seems to be saying anything about that on here. Sure battery may last half the day but have you seen the high resolution screen? Well that's why.
And there are things you can do to maintain battery life. Turn off 3g if your not using internet or gps, turn off Bluetooth if your not using it, turn down the brightness, turn off auto brightness, oh and buy a car charger. LOL.

Pros
Touch screen is amazing
Internet amazing
App store is great
Voice and ring quality is great

Cons
app store packed with a bunch of over priced junk
No copy and paste (that's what updates are for)
No video recorder (again that's what updates are for let's be patiant)
Battery not that strong. (thats why they made car chargers)
Too many haters (hi haters)

Big Bad Apple

Sep 2, 2008 by spring207

First i would like to say that apple has an over all great idea. but lets not forget that lg had the first finger touch phone. ( lg prada)

pros.
the 3g is really amazing since i do go through phone and use more phones than probably most people do in 10 years. it is a quick speed.

love the text voice mail that in its self is truly amazing ill give apple that.

the apple apps store. that is a great idea from apple. no one else has came out with that idea before and its apple they know how to turn something simple into something amazing. so yes i will them that.

Cons. with this i do i have more cons then pros.

first off the 3g speed is a lot better than what is on the iphone 1. but lets not forget iphone 3g is not the first phone to have it. and also the speeds i have and iphone 3g and i have also used and seen about 8 other and all the iphone 3gs seem to have the same little glitch or bug in the software where it will not run the 3g speeds like 3g is supposed to be ran. take a blackjack2 or an htc tilt. or what is know now as the phone that is harder to get than the iphone. the lg vu. those speed of those phones are truly how the 3g is suppose to be ran.

another is the feel of it. to me it feels like i will break the plastic backing on it. what is that. stick with the metal backing. looks much bettter and not so flimsy.

still no mms i dotn care what people say emailing pics is so annoying when u can easly send it over a text. please apple FIX IT.

and where the sim card is placed in the back so you cant get to it. yes it is annoying if u ever have sim card issues to have to send it back to apple when 99% of the time a prob can be fixed by simply taking out a sim card and letting the phone refresh is signal and all its data.

all in all iphone great idea to much hype for the iphone 3g not worth it in any case....

A lil buggy, but nothing a firmware update cant fix.

This phone is still the best cell phone around. For what it does, it does better than anyother cellhphone. A huge beautiful display, 3G, and a-GPS, its better than my N95-3 NAM.

Pros
Large display
3G
GPS
App Store
+ all the features from the first iPhone

Cons
iffy 3G coverage
battery life is worse than the first iPhone
build quality isnt as sturdy as the 1st iPhone
2.0 software in current state is very buggy

With a software update to fix the bugs and add a few features (hopefully MMS and flash support)this phone is by far the best cell-phone I have ever owned.

Apple should have waited

Jul 12, 2008 by gooshjkc

All in all it's an average phone. It only had one significant feature that the last iPhone didn't have and that's 3G. The design, layout, and OS is the same as before - boring. However, it is still very user friendly, one of the best touch interface that a phone has (however, Samsung is up to par now), and no one still can't beat it's iPod. Now, if Apple really wanted to destroy everyone, they should have waited and put out a phone that not only brings the 'WOW' factor, but also what majority of customers wants in a phone.

PROS:
Like all Mac products is COOL!!
CONS:
1)cant run 2 programs at same time
2)P O O R battery life specially running 3G or wifi
3)If you dont like it you eat it since noone else can use it unless has a plan with same company
4)You will never be able to type with 2 fingers
5)web pages open as a miniature of original page which means you need to move the whole page left and right to read it

LOVE/HATE relationship

I fell off an escalator to get this phone. 'Nuff said.

This phone is everything I needed and wanted. Yes, it has a phone, internet, messaging and an ipod all built into one sexy device but it has some very annoying "quirks" that get on my nerves. Also, I am a texting fiend. I find it more difficult to text message on this phone than I was anticipating.

PROS:
-3G internet speed
-WIFI
-iPod
-" factor
-White (Matches my MacBook)
-Camera is decent
-App Store
-Calender is really easy to use
-Visual voice mail (oddly one of my favorite features)
-Adding bookmarks from the web to your homescreen
-Speakerphone is good
-Pretty loud ringer

CONS:
-Reception is horrible. I drop calls ALL the time
-Crashes often, restarts randomly
-Simple applications run slower than the First generation iPhone i feel
-QWERTY Keyboard...eh
-Safari shuts down randomly all the time

I love this phone. The pros do out-way the cons and it is a sexy device. I am going to take a good look at the Blackberry Bold however when it comes out.

Apple IPhone 3G drops calls like crazy

Oct 15, 2008 by aug621

I just purchased the Apple IPhone 3G on 10/10/2008, I have found the phone drops calls like crazy and the internet speed is slow at best even with the new software update version 2.1 it still drops call consistently. I have spent hours on the phone with AT@T and Apple tech support its seems the problem cannot be fixed by Apple or AT@T this phone should be recalled and customers should be given a full refund

Why I fell out of love with the iPhone

Had the phone since launch day on Fido in Canada, only got it because it cost me nothing but my Fido dollars. Wow factor is fantastic, but I am a business user and was leary of the lack of a keyboard. Lots of nice to haves, applications that are cool, few that are very useful. Support for Microsoft Exchange has a long way to go, but works for the most part. My first handset developed a dead pixel, returned it for a 'new' unit, this one drops calls like crazy and breaks up, lemon perhaps? Eventually I simply found that for email and calls, the iPhone I had simply couldn't cut it. Its a nice looking phone with a fantastic screen, but like early PDA phones, its a better PDA then a phone. I do think Apple will improve upon it, its a work in progress, just not for me right now, and I need my phone to help me make progress.

Great device bad cell phone.

Once when you get past the "wow factor" of this phone and begin paying 100 bucks a month for a cell phone you will get tired of it real quick.

The device it's self is slick. The touchscreen is super responsive. You will not find a better browser for the web on your phone. This device is more of a toy then it is a cell phone. I get piss poor service where I live with this phone for some reason (st louis) and that was the main thing for me I wanted this phone because it was attractive and just like everyone else at the time i didn't care if it couldn't send a mms I just wanted it because it was the "it" product just like everyone else that won't admit it.

pros
responsive screen
beautiful crisp screen.
Internet browser.

cons
no mms
no video
bad service /dropped calls.

even tho apple just announced 3.0 software its a little to late for alot of people. There are touch phones out now that are just as good if not better then the iphone like the eternity by samsung.
