Samsung Beat SGH-T539
Average Ratings
Decent phone, but I've seen better
I bought this phone two days ago, and I intend to return it tomorrow. I buy a lot of cell phones, and am usually very forgiving, but this one has too many deficiencies to be a keeper.
The thing has randomly turned off on me six times after i either missed or chose to miss a phone call. I have seen it happen, it just turns off at the end of the ring cycle.
Admittedly it could just be a bad individual Samsung Beat, but another reason I am bringing it back is the incredibly ugly menus and color scheme. The texting interface is very sloppy. And my main gripe is the terrible looking screen. It is simply sub-par. The resolution is horrible, pictures look like they were made with an etch-a-sketch.
Its not all bad though.
Pros:
-Very cool looking when closed, sleek black finish and cool green accents. (I dig the green external display too for the time)
-Excellent button press when texting or dialing, there is a very satisfying 'click'
-loud, clear ringtones, excellent call quality
-comes with a memory card
-comes with headphones for listening to music
CONS:
-Horrid screen resolution, colors are shabby
-Random shutdown problem (although this could just be a "lemon")
-Insanely small amount of internal memory
Overall, not worth the full retail I paid. I hope they let me return a 4 day old phone restored to factory settings all back in the box with a receipt at a DIFFERENT T-Mobile Store.
Going back
I really don't see anything special about this phone.
Pros
External mp3 player buttons.
Comes with 1gb memory card.
Cons
Poor quality, cheap felling plastic
Ugly pink and black menu colors
(T-Mobile please realize that you have men as customers too and not everybody wants a PINK menu color)
Internal display looks like some low end samsungs.
I gave it two stars because it comes with the memory card. other than that, there are a lot of good choices over this phone.
