LG AX-300 / UX-300
Average Ratings
Poor LG
After having a moto for the past 6 years, I would have to say I was looking forward to my new LG phone. But after having this phone for less than a week, It looks like I will be using US Cellular's 30 day return policy. Yes the camera is a VGA and could be a little better and the sound quality is at best poor. Although the style of the phone is okay and the picture is okay, I just cannot see myself saying "what?" 100 million times over the next 2 years.
TERRIBLE SOUND QUALITY
This is my third LG cell phone and I am very disappointed. My previous phones were the best, I justed needed to upgrade to a newer phone.
Pros:
Looks nice
easy to operate/use
Cons:
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, sound quality overall
very poor selection of ring tones
doesn't take very good pictures
This is a great phone
I recently signed up with Alltel with my husband. We have been thru every cell phone company under the sun,and we have gotten nothing but bad phones from those companies.
I have had the phone for a little over a month, and let me tell ya, I think the sound is amazing. It's clear as day, I can hear people talk to me without interruption, the battery lasts awhile; I can go on and on about this phone. But to make a long story short, it's a great phone for those who want to use their cell phones as PHONES, and not little PCs.
Pro's
Great Sound Quality
Reliable Battery life
Great Reception
Con's
Not for those who are looking for a phone and a PC in one.
Poor Sound Quality
I've been an Alltel customer for over 10 years. We have a family plan with 5 phones, and we have owned several LG phones. Most have been great. This is the first time I will return a phone due to poor sound quality. My wife and I both got the new "free" LG AX-300 phones upon contract renewal -- she got the pink and I got the silver. Since we have two of them, I'm sure the problems we are experiencing are not a fluke: both phones sound terrible! The design is nice, and screen is clear and bright, and the menus are fine. The camera is adequate, and we like the overall look and feel. The main problem -- and this is, after all, the most important factor for ANY phone, is that we cannot clearly hear our calls! The sound in the earpiece is muffled and mushy. The speakerphone is even worse -- it sounds like you're listening through a cheap Kazoo (metallic and distorted). We strain to hear every call, and are constantly saying: "What? What?" We've played with all the settings -- volume, auto volume, voice privacy, etc. Nothing helps. Both phones are going back. Very disappointed.
Pros:
Nice sleek compact design
Clear bright screen
Good battery and signal strength
Adequate camera
Cons:
Terrible sound quality from earpiece
Horrible spearkerphone sound quality
