The good, the bad and the ugly
I like the fact that more and more the cell phones are stating to act like PDA's. I am over 40 and struggle with virtual keyboards so having the attachment keyboard is what prompt me to buy this phone. I switched from a VX10000 or Voyager as it is known on Verizon Wireless network.
PROs:
Accelerator makes the phone easier to use when trying to see what is on the screen.
The speaker is louder than the Voyager which enhances the GPS service, so I do not have to roll the windows up and turn the radio down in the car to hear the directions.
You can access the calendar from the welcome screen if there are events scheduled that day.
The size is smaller than the Voyager.
CONs:
I still have issues with the virtual keyboard and have had issues with the iphone and others as well. Friends encourage me that I will get use to them but I have my doubts.
Scrolling with your finger isn't very fun for me either on the screens.
You cannot expand photos with your fingers like the iphone...I am good at that, lol.
Camera is only 2.0 megapixles.
Versa...Well versed in what exactly???
So I guess the guys at LG were at the company christmas party and were wasted out of there minds and someone went, "OK guysh I take the dare and super glue my env2 keyboard onto it and I makes me inVERSAble!!!"
LoL @ this phone. The env2 is a nice full keyboard phone. The dare is nice enough for a 1st gen all touch media phone. The Versa just fails as a hybrid. Lookin at the phone it appears to be an Env2 with an extremely cheap and ugly faux leather cover on it. In fact it is worse. To put the full keyboard on and off u have to change the back cover of the phone. As if I dont have enough stuff to carry around to begin with, Now I have a second phone back too? The phone is ok without the keypad attatched but that kinda seems to defeat the point of the phone! When the keypad is attached the micro sd slot is also not accessable, nice guys nice! There are also some very attractive aftermarket keypads that I have seen on thrid party websited, but again they just dont seem right on the phone, it looks and feels alot better without it on and I really dont think I should have to reccomend you buy an $80 after market keypad for your phone to make it tolerable to use. Regardless of what decision u make there any keypad you use is goin to make the phone terrible unbalance and difficult to hand. I would take an env2 over this phone in a heartbeat. Yes its kinof a novel idea, but it was just a far cry from what it should have been and they final product is cheap looking not user friendly and lacks the looks and luster of mosty touchscreen phones. If ur lookin for a little cool touchscreen phone and like LG's plz the day you get this phone lose the keypad do not attach it save urslef, or better yet just make a decision which is important qwerty or touchscreen and then buy the env2 or dare, whcih are roughly about half the price on upgrade of this collosal nightmare of a phone. Sorry LG, but you deffinitely failed on this attempt. IT makes me think of my 8600 that got 110degree+
Stupid Versa! Do Not Get!!!!!!!
look,im 22 years old and i use my phone a lot.ive been through just about every phone out there and other than the palm centro, this versa is the worst! its a pain to use the detachable keyboard,i dont even have big hands and its a pain to use the virtual qwerty keyboard.the 0.5 that i gave this phone is for the camera! i thought this phone would be an upgrade from my voyager, more like a downgrade, its so small and unresponsive that my 2 year old nephew would give it back.i send 13,000 texts a month, about 150 to 300 texts a day.with this stupid jekyl/hyde versa,i couldnt send more than 40 texts! do not get!
cons: 1.too small 2.touch not responsive 3.both virtual and detachable keyboards are too small and suck 4.ringer volume high only with phone face up.5.everything else
