pretty great phone for blackberry
I purchased this phone one week ago today and its a great phone... only have 2 cons about it the volume is kinda low when you are on the phone and the there is a small lag when you are doing certain things on it. I have not had any problems with it but like i said only had it one week. I love the flip and love that its a blackberry,
Not a worthwhile upgrade to the Verizon Pearl 8130
Those on Verizon who already own the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 will not find the Pearl Flip 8230 a worthwhile upgrade unless you're desperately in need of a new device because of classic Pearl trackball problems or otherwise. Given the capabilities of the Storm, I decided to try the Pearl Flip 8230 in hopes that it, like the Storm, would have uncrippled GPS for use with Google Maps and Garmin Mobile. On par with typical Verizon BS, no such luck. When will they learn, and I guess on the flip side of that, when will I learn that Verizon has stopped providing devices to satisfy anyone higher than the typical Joe Consumer who's happy with a device as long as it has ten number keys, a send/end cluster, and a power button? The 8230 also has the same trackball as the original Pearl except recessed, about the same size screen except higher resolution, feels top-heavy, same keyboard but with much bigger keys which I actually don't like because it requires a lot of thumb travel to actually peck out a message. All in all, there's no compelling reason to move from the 8130 to the 8230.
Great Phone!
Overall a great phone, I came to this phone having no blackberry experience at all.
Yes it can be overwhelming to learn when you don't have BB experience but I wouldn't take it back for anything.
I am using this BlackBerry flip with the 3G network from US Cellular.
I would have to overall I am impressed.
I love flip phones and the fact that this isn't your everyday blackberry design.
Pro: Great batter life, Micro USB charging port, great camera with flash, awesome MP3 player and great sound, loud ringtones.
Cons: I my opinion not many but: Battery cover seems cheap and easy to come off and lose, cant change background for the front screen... but these are minor things compared to the amazing things this blackberry can do, just wish it had built in wifi
