Virgin Mobile's best phone yet!!!
I got this phone a few days ago at Radioshack and I have to say... it's AWESOME! When you first get it, you might have to get used to it, but by your second day of having it, you will easily be able to use it.
Pros: Large touchscreen
nice 5 row keyboard
takes nice photos and videos
plays youtube
has 3G
great battery life
opera mini web browser is snappy.
Cons: Hardly any, but if there was a problem, it would be that when you check the battery statuss of your rumor touch, it says 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%, there are no points. But that is not too much of a problem. This phone is just too good. Spread the Rumor!
Nicer than most "Smartphones"
I have had this phone for about three weeks now and really like it a lot. Maybe be the best phone I've had. (I've had many)
I really do not do much text messaging but being a "messaging" phone I will assume it does that very well.
I do a lot of web browsing and must say that the Netfront default browser is very basic but yet quite capable. However once I downloaded Opera Mini 5, the browsing now is almost PC like. The page rendering is perfect on almost every site I view. The touch screen zooming works very well. Only tap zoom though.
The touch screen itself works very well. I for one like the resistive type over capacitive because they just work better with my fingers. My only complaint with the touch is when scrolling you have to press rather hard and sometimes it will thing you taped it and go to that app or whatever instead of continue to scroll. The best thing is that you have the choice of using the touch screen or navagate with the arrow keys on the keyboard which is great when dealing with links on a web page and the links are so small that your finger would hit multiple links. My biggest complaint is that it seems that Virginmobile is denying access to downloading the Bolt browser which the people at Bolt tell me it would work on a touch screen phone but I can't seem to download it
As for the phone, I find the signal and sound quality to be excellent here on sprint in the NYC area
All in all, if you need a great phone with really good web browsing ability, I would strongly recommend this one.
Would be great if it had IM...
This was my first foray into this kind of phone. I really liked it for the most part - lots of great features! However, the one thing it does not have is IM?!?! It is included in the Features Guide that comes with the phone, but after talking with Sprint Tech Support, they said it was not available on this particular phone.
Pros:
* Great features
* Love the slide out QWERTY keyboard
* Durable
* Long battery life
Cons:
* No IM!
Since my office uses IM for work, I need to trade this phone in for something similar (like the Samsung Moment) that does have IM. I'm sad because I love the purple color :D.
If you can live without IM, then this phone is for you; if you can't, then move on to something else.
