One of the best phones on the market
I have to say that this is one of the best phones that I have ever had the pleasure of using. I work for T-mobile so I get to try out all the latest phones. This one has impressed me from the beginning. I was hesitant about straying from Android, after all 120,000 apps and growing makes it the most used OS for phones in the US. I have to say that HTC made this phone exceptionally well for windows. The 1Ghz processor is Lightning fast not only making loading app time quick but the app download and install times fast. The menus are simple and logical witch make finding what you want instant. The camera is amazing! No longer having to tap the on screen button multiple times to take a picture is nice, the camera button on the side makes it easier to use than most digital cameras. There is not another phone with a brighter flash on the market. The 720p HD video ability is stellar, once you take home video in HD there is no going back. Vivid and Vibrant colors come out 100% of the time.
I am a Netflix junkie...I will admit it. I thought that the HD7 would be a good for catching up on shows or movies during breaks, lines, or catching lunch while in the car. I have found that having a mini HD tv in your pocket is AWESOME! I find my self watching netflix on it all the time. The screen is so clear and the sound (through headphones) is again great thanks to the processing speeds of the Snapdragon processor. Netflix did a great with windows and the 3G+ speeds of the HD7. The buffering is always allowing for smooth and clear picture with hardly any lag/loading time. And absolutely no lag time when connected to wifi.
There is no SWYPE feature for this phone, but do not let that fool you. The phone's predictive spelling feature works great and the large screen makes the on screen keyboard a piece of cake especially when in the horizontal position. Copy and Paste will be nice when window's releases it for the HD7 in their next update called "NoDo" I would recommend this phone!
HD7 Review
This phone is one of the nicest looking phones out to date. I think if you're in the market for a new Windows Phone 7 phone, this one of the best WP7 phones out there if not the best.
Pro's
- Huge and nice 4.3 inch screen
- Feels good in hand and great build quality
- Kickstand is a nice feature
- The WP7 keyboard is the nicest one out (especially on an 4.3 inch screen)
- The UI is very original, easy to navigate fluid, and responsive
- Zune Player
- Marketplace is growing rapidly
- Good battery life (Way better than any Android phone I've used)
Con's
- Not of T-Mobile's 4G network
- Loading time on games are slow most of the time (hopefully they fix this on the next update)
- No Mobile Hotspot or teathering option
- Speaker is not very loud
- The physical buttons on the phone aren't really that great
- Camera quality isn't that great either
Most of the con's about this phone could be fixed with an update. I know people say this phone has outdated hardware but that's because they're putting it against android phones. WP7 doesn't need to be running the greatest processor to run smooth! Can't wait til what comes after the HD7! Hopefully a FFC!
Buy it and you wont regret it
New windows 7+ HTC= One spectacular product. Windows OS 7 is really good and I think its better than the iphone OS and in the same league as the Android OS. HD7 has a gorgeous screen that is 4.3 inches, fast processor, and no lag whats so ever. The cons is that windows OS still has some features like custom ringtones and copy and paste missing. Also battery life is pretty bad but I use it very extensively so with moderate use it has average life.
Plus/Minus on this phone
Pros: Great Start Page that can be easily modified to your needs. Easy to bring music and photos over using Zune. Love the GPS/Map application.
Cons: A big BEWARE if you need this phone for business purposes. There is no To Do List. Doesn't automatically sync your existing Outlook account. The process for accessing your existing Outlook contacts involves downloading Outlook Connector from Microsoft.com. Then you have to copy/export and then import into your Windows Live account. Your calendar will not export out of Outlook. I'm still trying to download some sort of To Do List and having lots of problems with the HTC Marketplace. I'm just about ready to take this phone back to Costco and trade for something else.
