Kyocera KE433 / K7 (Rave)
Average Ratings
Good, i mean bad
Virgin mobile was my first cellphone carrier and this was my first phone
This phone is good but for a 12 year old who has wanted a cellphone 4 a long time so if you want a phone and are really young like me im12 get this phone and in a couple of weeks exchange it for the audiovox.
Good choice for a first phone
Looking for an inexpensive phone? The K7 Rave is a great deal for the price and has everything you need in a reliable and useful cell phone. Get hip ringtones, use the handy flashlight at the end of the phone, even calculate the proper tip on a meal out with your friends. I found the phone really easy to program (very unlike my last phone and its mega manual) and receive great reception.
A great first phone.
I used to own this phone and i agree that it has it's downfalls, however i think it is a great first cell phone for anyone. It has all the basic features you need. And Virgin Mobile makes it easy with the Pay As You Go Plan, only $20 every 3 months!
I liked it
I liked this phone it was my first ever cell phone through Virgin Mobile. I liked the ringtones I thought they were clear. I just thought it was a very good phone there was only two things I did'nt like I did'nt like that the screen had no color and it was kind of big.
Everything a phone should be...
It's bigger than most and has nice large buttons, which is a good thing for me; I called it from my home phone, it rang a nice, sensible tone and not a juvenile song; I could set it to vibrate also, which is what I prefer. Setting up contacts was easy once I learned what the buttons do. Calls to automated weather report seem clear, except voice muddies up considerably when using ear piece/headset. This is a great travel phone for calling cabs or ordering pizza from the hotel without incurring charges; it even has an "airplane mode" that lets you play games on it (which I have no intention of doing) but doesn't let calls come in or go out while in flight. And, it only cost $50. I consider it a great buy for what I need a wireless phone to do. Love the blue backlighting, too. Careful, though, some of the ones like mine that were clearanced had their batteries recalled. Kyocera will happily replace it promptly, though.
good for first phone
i agree goof for a first phone. That's the whole reason it's not a zero cheap.
Pros
----
*bright blue light makes screen easy to see in dark
*loud ringtones
Cons
----
*ugly and plain
*virgin mobile service sucks unless you live outside us
*screensavers suck
*no downloadable games or screensavers
*takes too much money for one minute
*cannot vibrate and ring at same time
*games boring
But as I said if it's your first phone and you never see anything better then you'll like it
Rave VS. Other Virgin Phones
The rave is a semi big phone with a limited amount of features. It is not a very good phone but for the price it is worthed. With Virgin Mobile this phone is only 59.99.
Pros:
Flashlight
Games
Blue backlight
Virgin Xtras
Cons:
VIrgin Xtras are not that good
Bad Rates
Not so small
AN OK PHONE FROM VIRGIN MOBILE
THIS IS A VERY GOOD PHONE BUT IT HAS A LOT OF DRAW BACKS LIKE THE BATTERY LIFE SUCKS IT LAST ME HALF A DAY ALSO FACEPLATE COMES OFF TO EASY YOU CAN LOSE IT AND THEN YOUR KEYPAD FALLS OFF. BUT ANYWAY THE PHONE IS UGLY THE ONLY THINGS I LIKE ABOUT IT ARE THE FLASHLITE BUILT IN AND THAT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD RINGTONES. BUT THE PHONE IS VERY CHEEP AND YOU ARE GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR THE PHONE ONLY WAS $40.00 THE PHONE IS A GOOD PHONE IF YOU ARE BUYING IT FOR YOUR KID. THAY REALLY DONT NEED A COLOR SCREEN OR A CAMERA ON THE PHONE. IT IS A PRE PAID SERVICE YOU CONTROLE THE AMOUNT OF TALKING THAY DO. I THINK IT NEEDS TO HAVE A MAKE OVER AND NEEDS MORE FEATURES BUT IT IS A GOOD STARTER PHONE.
