The Lumia 900 is Nokia's most important smartphone launch ever. Microsoft and AT&T have a lot riding on this device, too, as its success will shape the future of Windows Phone in the US and beyond. With specs to spare, Nokia goes for the no-nonsense approach in with its flagship smartphone. read review ›

Simple and effective.
I recently bought this phone coming from a high end android.
Without a doubt the UI is simply stunning. Nothing on Android or IOS can compare with the beauty of the phones internal and external design. The phone is all one piece, feeling durable. The tiles are nice, large, and get the job done. Everything you need on this phone is on two screens, making it simple to get started.
The phone is controlled by gestures. Everything is usually in a panorama, so just swipe apps left and right, making it easy to navigate. On android the process of going through an app is not as intuitive, depending not he app their may be a lot of option buttons to press.
My absolute favorite thing about the phone other then 4g lte speeds is that I can use the phone in the sunlight. With my old android I didn't even bother using the phone outside, the screen would just wash away, with this I can text and walk throughout campus without a problem.
I would say the voice controls features could be better. They are simple and can't comprehend long text messages. Currently the voice features are good for calling people and searching the web.
Great phone, but...............
I agree with the high praises everyone has given this phone to date. The only negative comment is the size. The large bezel on this phone makes the width too wide. This 4.3 inch phone is as wide as most 4.5 and 4.7 inch phones.
People with small hands will find this phone uncomfortable. No matter how many high marks this phone has, the size makes this a deal breaker for me.
Great smartphone
There are so many things that I like about this phone. I used to be an Android user and was happy with my phone (Samsung Gallaxy), but this one is much better and more user friendly.
The outside feel of this phone feels really nice. The screen is smooth and responsive. I did get a cover with the phone and it hides a little of the beveled edges which I like.
The phone itself is very fast. Things like e-mail, text, and other tasks are easy to get through. The camera takes good pictures and the video is clear even when on a video call. The sound is crystal clear when on a call and listening to music is much better then my last phone.
I like some of the extra touches that Windows has built in like being able to wireless Synch, seeing my calendar and emails without even opening my phone, and having my text read to me while in the car and connected to Bluetooth.
Overall, I enjoy how well apps and tasks can integrate and work together. This is by far the best smartphone I have used/own.
pros
User Friendly
Camera
Sound quality
App integration
Lumia 900
Not only the best Windows Phone ever, but the best smart phone ever. Amazing hardware design married to Windows OS 7.5 is perfect. Anyone on Android or IOS should take this phone out for a test drive. You'll be impressed.
HUGE! some improvements needed
PRO
a. screen is massively large.
b. refresh rate is sweet
c. ability to rearrange tiles on screen
d. 8mp camera (not as good as the Titan, but still pretty good)
e. Speed of uploads downloads is pretty impressive
CONS
a. power button on right side instead of top. I keep hitting it and blacking out screen just when holding it
b. size is larger than my hand (5'2'' female so my hands are pretty small) As such, my thumb cannot reach across when typing to reach the far letters. I now have to type with both hands
c. Speaker vol is very weak.
d. W7.5 does not support Flash! BOOOO! What a major let down :(
e. charges very slowly
f. Charge cable is white and looks just like an Apple product. How lame! My phone is black but now I have this ugly apple-looking cable plugged in
g. Facebook app is not integrated as well as the Android app is. But it is faster
Bottom line
1. Iphone and Android still better
2. Not worth more than $100 out of pocket
3. MSFT finally has made some good improvements, but still not there
4. People will be jealous of the screen size for sure
This is a work purchase. IF I had paid for it, I would have given it a lower rating.
