I loved this phone
I loved this phone and all of the features. It took a dunk into some water I did nt try to dry it all the way and the phone keys stopped working.

Love the Sanyo scp-7300
I have used this phone for a year and a few months. Great phone. My adult kids think I should upgrade to one of those fancy phones like they use to play games on. This phone works great I use it many times a day for voice and texts. Very rugged, and the buttons work well with a man's fingers.
i bought it used and its awesome!!!!

Great Phone but poor battery life
I purchased the Sanyo RL 7300 about 1 1/2 years ago and it worked fine. Recently it will not charge the regular or an extended battery fully. It barely lasts a day! The wall charger will at times deplete even further the battery. I now own 4 batteries' three extended and the original. It won't properly charge either one!
I made the mistake of pre-setting too many phone numbers so I am still using this phone but not for long since my patience is running low.
My last battery was purchased in Canada since Sprint and Sanyo ran out of them. I can understand why!
New buyers of the RL or SCP 7300 BEWARE OF THE UNSTABLE BATTERY CHARGING MECHANISM!
Great phone
I had had this phone for 2 years now and had no problems except for the charger shorting out. NO problem though Sprint replaced the charger with the flat charger free of cost. This phone is great on reception, and speakerphone...not much really else to say, even the new phoens out have nothing on this one, the reception is incredible. no camera is the only downfall.
do not buy scp-7300
I have had this phone since december of 2004. I have had it replaced twice because of software issues. the main problem is that the scroll button continues to fail therefore making it impossible to access anything in my menu. This has happend to me three times with three different phones.
everything else about the phone is above average.
Great Phone
I'll start with the only 2 cons I have about this phone. Google image searching works great, but you cant increase the picture sizes, and many websites simply dont work. I guess its just not technologically there yet. The other con is that this phone gets hot as anything when you talk for more than 10 minutes. Other than that, yeah the battery life is not real long, however there are larger batteries you can buy. I have had this phone now for about a year, and I've dropped it so many times. When you drop it, the battery pops out every time, but goes back in easily. Its durable, user friendly and well built. Speakerphone sounds great, no one has trouble hearing me, great reception, good ring tone capability, cool screensaver options, and overall, I have not had any problems with this phone. Going on year 2 and it works just like the day I bought it.
Overall Good CDN phone
This phone is solid. Outside and inside. Decent reception. Not exceptional but I haven't had much issues. Carrier is Bell, and I live in Vancouver, BC. The battery problem isn't really a problem for me. I mean, plug it in at night what's the big deal. Anyway, read the manual it actually has some goodies.

worst sanyo phone ever!
I upgraded to this phone from another Sanyo phone thinking it would be equal or better but I was totally wrong. This is the worst cell phone I ever owned. PERIOD. The two things a phone has to do is 1. make a call and 2. receive a call. This phone can't do either because the reception stinks so bad. And when you do get a signal you have a real tough time hearing the person on the other end of the line because it's all distorted. I can't say there are any pros to this phone except that the ruggedized edges do keep the phone from getting dented up.
CONS
- HORRIBLE reception. Worst reception ever!
- Drops calls like they're going outta style.
- muffled and distorted voice quality
(sounds like someone is yelling into the phone)
- speakerphone is distorted
- big, bulky, ugly.
- Front LCD is so small that it can't even fit a full name or phone number across the screen and there's no way to adjust the font size down small enough. All you see is a scrolling phone number and you have to wait for it to completely scroll into view or flip open the phone to figure out what it's saying. At that rate, what's the point of having a front LCD??
