The Truth about this phone
I am a customer with Alltel and when this phone and it's previous model was made available to me I decided to try them. My wife has a camera/flip phone which holds all her cute little widgets and gadgets....this phone doesn't have any of those features..ie.. camera, mp3 or blue tooth for that matter, however I have never owned a cell phone, except the old bag phones from yesteryear, that had the reception power that this phone has. Yes I read what others have said about reception and all I can say is mine has no problem! I work at a hospital and I am constantly receiving calls throughout the building. My co-workers must go outside to get any signal at all while I am getting 4 bars. I have the sportclip which is exactly what the doctor ordered(no pun intended) and I am constantly bombarded with requests and questions. " Can I use your phone?", "where can I get one of those?".
Unfortunately Alltel, in their infinite wisdom, decided to discontinue this phone in their lineup, so I had to go to the manufacturer to get a second one so that my wife and I can use the PTT (only feature hers doesn't have..go figure) so when we go on vacation we can communicate quickly without the extremely loud ringing that this phone provides. She has been converted, she clips the phone to her purse and off she goes, hasn't left it or lost it yet..
Sometimes I do wish it were bluetooth capable but I can live without that feature as long as I can get a strong signal.....That is the Truth about this Phone !!!

Awesome Phone, PTT service questionable
This Phone Is the Best phone I have ever owned. I own a small buisness, and I use about 4000 minutes a month, I also travel to REMOTE locations, where 90% of other phones have no signal, but this phone does.
The Volume level Is the best I have seen...I work in a noisy enviornment, and other flimsy "flip" phones just won't cut it.
Durability is up there.....not as good as NEXTEL phones, but much better than all the other phones verizon offers.
Speaker phone is great, and I love the DEDICATED button for the speakerphone.
Battery Life is wonderfull....I can talk several hundred minutes a day, and only need to charge it about every other day....The phone does get VERY HOT after 30 or 40 minutes on the phone.
The PTT service pretty much stinks....
1) You have to set it all up via the verizon web site, and you can't do it through the phone!
2) When you "alert" someone the first time, it can take up to a half a minute or more before they receive the first alert.
Once that person answers, and you are "connected", the delay is about 4 to 5 seconds each way......so that adds up to 10 seconds of "dead" air between each user......definitely taking away most of the "efficiency" that push to talk is all about.
Summarry.....I will gladly pay the extra $5 a month (ptt fee...that i rarely use), so I can use the ONLY VERIZON phone that is NOT A FLIMSY FLIP PHONE, IS LOUD, RUGGED, AND HAS SPEAKERPHONE......
BOOOOO!!!!
ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I AM DEFINITLY NOT PLEASED WITH THIS PHONE. It was a supposed to be a great phone, but it definitely hasn't proved its self. I am disappointed with the so called color display, when it is exposed to daylight, it fades. If i could go back, i definitely wouldn't buy this one. Thanks
Universal Holster
Friends . . . if you need a great "holster" for your cell fone, try your local Radio Shack. We've been using same holster for our third fone running now, purchased at the shack. It's heavy-duty black mesh cloth, has a belt clip and an included car clip accessory (we never used that) and a velcro-sealing cover flap. Nice, simple, durable, a real bargain.
