When you JUST want a phone...
Sturdy as a brick, with about as many features. I have dropped my phone on concrete repeatedly, used it in the rain, had my pet ferret chew on it, and it still works great. Plus, I live in an area with very low signal, and I can use this phone even in my basement. The sound is great, it's good and loud for people with hard hearing.
However, there's no downloadable ringtones, no 2-way speakerphone, no voice-activated dialing, and no silent mode. (Yes, you can turn the ringtone volume down to "Silent" but it still rings at a low, audible volume. Bad for workplaces.) Voice-activated dialing is a nice plus, but I consider the other three necessities for any cell phone.
Another downside is that it's identical to the Audiovox 9155, which DOES have voice dialing and 2-way speaker. Buyer beware when getting a "9155" used, since the only way you can tell is by looking behind the battery.
Just not intuitive to use
It's hard to take advantage of what few features there are with the phone. It's also rather large and not customizeable which is what having fun with a phone is about these days.
I will say that it seems to take a pounding though and not show any wear at all. The dufus security guard at the airport dropped it from a height of about five feet. Not a mark on it and it still works like it's new.
If I were you, I'd move on and find another phone. That's what I'm in the process of doing right now!
