Not A Good phone for high contact/ BluetoothT user
Overall I liked the phone and the slim design. The external music buttons was a good feature. what I did not like is that you need to record yourself saying names in your contact list in order for the voice dial to work. My current Motorola has voice recognition and this was not required. If you are like me and have nearly 100 contacts this is not good. Also with the Blue tooth I was unable to get it to work to activated voice dialing by pressing the BT button. All it did was pull up the last number dialed and if you press it again it redialed it. I used my 15 day worry free guarantee and returned this phone for another.
a fine basic phone simple as that
after two years of personal experience this phone has done all i needed it for im a basic guy that dont need all the extra stuff.the battery is good hearing is good & signal is great the one i have is from the verizon service.
Pro's - a basic phone a good decent battery, signal is even great for deep rural areas of the usa,&sound quality is good enough.
Con's - unless your picky or spoiled or other, there's not a thing wrong with having this phone my opinion is that a basic phone with caller id voicemail battery&signal+abl to hear is all of a phone Anybody really needs.
great phone
I've had mine for over 2 years, dropped it on pavement in the winter a few times and it still works fine! very durable...too bad it's probably out of print by now.
Great phone love it, love it!!!!
I have had this phone for almost two years!!! Not joking love it time for a upgrade and I am having alittle trouble letting go of it. I used to sale phones for another company and we always sold and had better experience with Nokia phones and this phone proofs that. I have had no problems out of it even after almost two years. I still don't have to charge it every day the battery is GREAT!! The camera is pretty descent. I have dropped this phone so many times not a bad scracth. I actually dropped it off my car the other day onto the ground and no problems!!! Ihave owned other Nokia, LG's, Kyocera and this by far is the best one.
Pros:
*great battery life
* great size to hold in one hand and type
* sturdy phone
* speaker is great
*MP3 player works fine and loud
not many problems at all the only ones is the camera is in a awkward position and gets getting used to and the inside is finger print magnet but you get used to that also!! Recommend this phone to anyone!!!
Great phone
I'm still having this phone and it has been like 2 year now. works great, just like new.
Pro: Great phone
Cons: OK button is kind a sensitive, so might press OK instead of the arrow keys. This rarely happens, so not to worry.
Nice phone
I won this thing. I would have never bought it. I liked Nokia but these are made by Pantech so I had no interest. I have also had a moto 815-lg8100-lg8300-razr-chocolate so the features this brought to the table was nothing new, if anything a step back. I am currently using a lg9900 but used this for a few days then gave it to my wife to replace her 815 that is getting a little to old. I was extremely pleased with the sound quality and displays on this phone. The blue tooth also works very well and it is clear. I also like the voice set up better, this is totally a personal opinion. I do not like voice recognition where you have to speak 3 commands to make a call. This is straight voice dialing, say name, it calls. Much faster but takes more effort to set it up. the battery seems to be pretty good, went two days without charging it and I am a heavy user. The camera is pretty good, not as good as the 9900,8300 but better than the 815,8100,razr. So it is on par or better than comparable phones. The video quality was not that great, but it usually is not good on phones anyway. Signal was also excellent, I live in a poor signal area, many phones drop calls or have no signal at my house, this one actually held 2 bars of signal and never had any issues. This is a good competitor to the 8300, side by side the 8300 will win because it does offer the flash ui, better speaker phone, and a little better camera, the the 6315 is smaller and doesn't feel as bulky in your pocket. If you get a god price on it grab it! I wouldn't pay the same amount for this as a 8300 but is the best option when positioned against the lg5300, razr or samsung 930/870
Good Phone but...Trading in for the LG vx8600
This is a really good phone. If you are looking for a small thin light phone with excellent signal and ergonomics, this is a great choice. I however, am looking for a bit more functionality. Bluetooth on this phone is losy because a) you have to say all of your contacts into the phone to get voice recognition and b) the Bluetooth activation button only brings you to last number dialed...no prompt for contact list.
Pros:
Camera works well
Screens are great
fine call volume and ring
Cons:
See above re: bluetooth and Voice dialing
No data link
No customizability
No accessories from Verizon or Nokia (Its a Pantech re-badged)
So far so good
Just got this phone after my last phone decided to jump out of my pocket and take a little swim which it sadly didn't survive. Chose this phone for its attractive design and comfort.
Great screen resolution, which is something I'm picky about. So far the battery life seems outstanding. I've had the phone on nonstop since Thursday and today (Sunday) it's only down two bars (of a total of four). Granted, I haven't made a lot of calls on it yet, but my last phone could barely last a day, regardless of use, without having to be recharged.
I really like the buttons on this phone. They seem easier to push than my last phone, which should be nice whenever I get around to choosing a game or two to download. However, the arrow buttons (surrounding the "OK" button) are a tad smaller than I'd have preferred.
Camera seems to take decent quality pictures. Nothing breathtaking but I didn't buy it for the camera so it's a nice perk. Haven't even bothered trying video yet but again, as it's a phone, it's simply another nice little perk to me.
As for cons, I don't care for the front screen. It's okay, but there can be a lot of text on there. As far as I know, there's no way to get rid of the "Verizon Wireless" text on the front screen, which gets in the way of any picture you might want to have up there. I've read that you can't pick your own mp3's for rings, which doesn't bother me at all as I always set my phone to vibrate only.
My single biggest complaint with the word function (which you can set to default despite what some reviews have said) is that it's completely screwy with capitalization in contractions. For example, doesn't will come out as doesn'T. The only way to correct this is to erase it and fix it manually. This probably isn't a big deal for most, but I'm a nitpick when it comes to grammar.
Overall, I'm satisfied with this phone. Good looks, good design, and aside from the capitalization bug, I really have no big gripes.
great battery life
just got this phone. first time using nokia and it's got unblievably amazing battery life. love the phone so far
Great features but poor implementation
The phone has some great features including
a 1.3Mp camera that takes reasonable photos, even in low light situations, which is fortunate because the flash is absolutely worthless. Also, the camera lens is placed directly in line with where your thumb would normally rest. It's impossible NOT to get your fingers all over it and quite difficult to take pictures at all with the unfortunate position of the lens (astonishing, but true!).
The video quality is choppy, similar to the Motorola RAZR. Not nearly as good as the smoother Motorola E815 video quality.
My E815 allowed me to see the time on the external screen even when the display turned off. Not possible on this phone.
There's two big problems with the predictive text mode on this phone: first, there's no way to make it the default text entry mode (it must be reselected with every text message), and second, IT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. Contractions are always mis-capitalized (i.e., it's comes out as it'S; haven't as haven'T).
The speaker-phone is way too quiet to be useful in situations I normally use the speaker-phone.
Overall a complete disappointment. This phone is going back tomorrow.
