LG VX-10

I Love My LG VX-10
This phone has it all. It's small sleek shell makes it possible to be carried anywhere, including a shirt pocket. The dual display screens are the best thing to have on any phone; I have used my front display for multiple task including a calendar and clock. Reception is very good, but as with other phones, a booster was needed to help in those tight spots such as elevators and basements. It's light weight and silver color puts it over the top for royalty. I looked into upgrading to the 4400 and after the comparison, I decided "I Love My LG VX-10".
A Waste Of Time And Money.
In all honesty, this is the worst phone I have ever used. Everything about the phone was great at first, so I bought it. I get it home, and the signal is quite lacking. I live in the Pittsburgh, PA area and was under Verizon Wireless Contract. Needless to say, service was hideous. The first LG VX-10 I had bought, the screen developed dead pixels in it, several blank lines began to run through both the outside screen, as well as the inside screen. It was soon replaced.
The second phone would not hold a signal no matter where I went. I could go into a high signal area, and my buddy would have full reception(Verizon Wireless) whilst I was struggling to hold a one bar signal! That my friends is terrible.
The second phone was quickly replaced with a third LG VX-10. Now, this phone did it for me, this was the phone that made me end the contract with Verizon. It had the symptoms of the second LG VX-10 I had, coupled with the battery life, or lack there of. I could not get a signal, and when I could get a signal, the phone would run out of battery life in 2-3 minutes, tops. Now, I had completely charged the phone and followed the instructions included in manual that had accompanied the LG VX-10, and it had proved to be a failure. I was not going to waste the money to replace the battery when I could not get service.
In all honesty, I advise any potential buyers to abstain from even looking at or buying this phone. It is junk, nothing short of it.
Very Impressed
I have had this phone now since March and have not had a second thought about purchasing it. I am a sales rep for US Cellular and I am actually disappointed we no longer carry it. The LG VX10 is simple to use, boasts features that are comparable to phones now on the market and I have yet to be in a location that it didn't pull strong signal. I visit the mountains from time to time and even in strictly analog areas, signal is clear and precise. The only drawback I see for this model is that it doesn't carry games, though not important to me, I have a Playstation at home. I am pleased to see that LG has introduced an even better line of phones that hopefully will continue with the success of the LG VX10. Many years ago, I had an early "brick" model of LG that was also phenomenal. I will forever be a fan of LG products.
NO WAY
Bad battery life, breaks with the slightest drop, bad reception, no value, replacement parts are hard to find, and very costly. This is my 2nd cell phone and I am more than let down. I traded in my Motorola star tac for this phone. The LG phones are all junk. I haven't seen an LG phone i would ever buy again. Please do yourself a favor and buy a different phone.
Good overall phone
Good overall phone.
Great battery life.
Above average signal strength.
Great size.
Depending on what you are looking for, this phone might be the best phone for the money in terms of flips.
It does NOT have speaker phone - (How many flip-phones have a decent speaker-phone anyway?)
It does NOT have voice-activated dialing - (When was the last time you used that feature anyway?)
Good value
discrete, durable, and dingy battery life
i've had this phone going on 8 months, it suits its purpose; i've experienced completely clear call quality(Verizon Wireless, NY metro area); very rarely have i encountered dropped calls; it is lightweight and seems fragile, however, it has withstood the occasional drop, toss, and snapping shut.
it has one severe downside: battery life stinks.
i kid you not, i've experienced average talk times of 5 minutes. the battery will show that is either full or nearly full of battery juice; i will speak on phone for 4 minutes and then hear the tone indicating that battery is about to die. that is most frustrating~ other than battery life, the phone has exceeded my expectations; however, when it comes to purchase another phone, it will most likely not be another LG. this is a shame because i work in the industry and have heard numerous complaints about reception on other makes of equipment. a word to the wise, if you do purchase the phone, buy an extra battery!
