Just my 2 cents about this phone!

Oct 19, 2008 by garealtor

I just got this phone from a friend of mine who is, shall we say, technically challenged. It is way too complicated for her, and I need a PDA!

So...I have had it for a few days, and, the only positive things I can say is that I love the color (its pink), the swivel screen is kinda cool, and I love the keyboard.

The negative things that I was unaware of are:

1. not bluetooth enabled (I guess bluetooth came out after these phones)

2. Camera does suck

3. You can't send pictures via text...they have to go via email, which sux because I have friends on other networks!

4. It is bulky

5. I can't remove the Rock and Robots game that apparently came on the phone, and it takes up a lot of memory....

6. No way to add any additional storage via storage card

7. Only 36 pictures allowed....c'mon...I need to be able to store more than that!

8. I can't view my excel spreadsheets on it because this is a feature that does not exist for this phone, although it lists it under the download selection and its supposed to be able to work with Microsoft Office

9. I can't get rid of the AOL instant messenger because it apparently came installed on the phone and can't be removed...at least thats what tech support said!

I guess my expectations were pretty high for this phone because I had a tmobile Dash that was stolen by the condo's cleaning crew in Destin Florida! I loved that phone and will probably get another one when I am able to take advantage of the full discount from tmobile...in about 5 months! There's a special place in hell for people who steal cell phones...at least I hope so! That one had my life on it!

So, unless you just want this phone to access the web, email accounts, and text...it's really not worth the money! Thank God I only spent $100 on it from a friend!!!

The best.

I just loved this phone. The design, the graphics, the screen and every little features. I loved it! I got rid of it because I had it on T-Mobile prepaid, and it sucked!

Good phone, bad service.

Reliability. Standard.

This happens to be one of my favorite of the sidekick family. I've had all but the first. On to the good and bad things.

Pros:

1. Same Sidekick Expirience.

2. :O Camera...With a flash.

3. Yahoo IM.

4. Scroll Wheel.

5. Ah, the wonderful FULL Qwerty keyboard.

6. Loud Speaker.

Cons:

1. Big.

2. Awkward holding it to your ear.

3. Random USB port.

4. Bumpers break.

my 2nd fave sidekick.

i think the lx is the best sidekick so far, BUT if that didnt exist i would say sidekick 2 all the way. imo its way more stylish than the 3 and was overall a better phone. the only thing i didnt like was that the keyboard started to peel off of mine. other than that, amazing sidekick.

not my favorite.

I first bought this phone because it was the 'new thing', and it seemed like a pretty neat phone. I was so excited when I first got it, although it took me quite some time to really figure it out. I've only had it a little over 2 months and now I'm tired of it & I'm ready to get rid of it. The thing that has most annoyed me with it, is that the battery only last one - two days. The only thing I really like about it, is that its GREAT to text with.

PROS:
- cool swivel screen
- very good & easy to text with (better have unlimited!)
- internet
- good colors
- nice sound & speaker phone
- the few games it does have are pretty neat.

CONS:
- bad signal
- very bad battery life
- no personalization!
- crappy ring tones
- scratchs easily
- mine freezes up (i don't know if that happens with them all or not.)
- fragile
- not so good of a camera
- bulky

Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.
Everyone think its such a great phone & it gets a lot of attention. But I've been disappointed with it. At first it was fun but then the whole 'coolness' factor goes away and you notice its pretty lame.

my phone is hot, alot of people say that the sidekick 3 is better but it is not. the sidekick 3 dies in like 2 min. i think that my phone is better . and the sidekick 2 and the sidekick 3 do almost the same thing, the sidekick 3 does like 2 things that are different from the sidekick 2

T-Mobile Sidekick 2:

Nov 9, 2006 by 2Scoops

The Sidekick 2 is arguably the BEST messaging phone out the in the market today . The features of the phone are the following: Instant Messaging, Web Browser, Calculater, Calender, Notepad, Games, and it also has a camera. The bad part now is the lack of additional features. It seems as a Great first attempt but T-Mobile just seems to want to limit this Good Device. Now to rate this phone is a hard job because the negatives and positives even each other out. For instance if you want a phone for the camera this phone is possibly the WORST phone to get but the AIM and the Beautiful QWERTY Keyboard evens it out. I've had this phone for about a year so I know every detail and feature. Now I will breakdown every aspect and rate it so you can get a better idea.

The Good!!!
1. Instant Messaging
2. The Personal E-Mail Account
3. QWERTY Keyboard (Best Addition)
4. Click Wheel
5. Battery

The Decent!!!
1. Web-Browser (Long Wait For Each Page)
2. Screen Resolution

The Bad!!!
1. Camera is Purely Horrible
2. Too Basic (Nothing Really Innovative)
3. Size (Too Bulky)

Overall: I give the phone a 3 because with such cons the pros basically evens it out to just average. It has I Think the best AIM program, Email Program and MAYBE the best QWERTY Keyboard. Good Phone & Messaging Device its just too simple, T-Mobile just needs to let people customize it in their own way.

T-Mobile SideKick II

Aug 21, 2006 by Mista Rohe

I have recently purchased this handheld high tech cell phone. I got it for $300.00. Let me tell you, it deserves the price. This phone is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I have never had a phone like this ever! I have owned the PalmOne and a Blackberry and none come even close to the SideKick II brought to you by T-Mobile. My only complaints are that the camera is not the best (but for a phone its pretty good) and that you can only purchase 10 ringtones, but more are already included. A new version has been recently been released but I've heard that instead of having a scrollbar, it has a trackball, which causes a lot of problems. But the pros of this mobile device is simple: Great phone, great reception, great screen, love the bumper protectors (Never broke this thing and I've dropped it before, so it is VERY VERY sturdy despite other complaints) and is very easy to use. Online is amazing and you can check out ur myspace and any other possible website you have in mind. You can IM friends, business, and family and text message. The keyboard is perfect and lights up in the dark. It has a sturdy screen. This handheld also has a sexy sleek style to it. No wonder celebrities like SnoopDogg, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Regis Philbin own one. Once you try it out for yourself, your hooked. Bling it up and customize your sidekick to make it even more 'you'. I am just in love with this thing and never leave without it. If you want to stay in touch any where, even in other countries, this gizmo is for you! Grab one today!
