be careful
i got this fone and yeh the slide is loose too and the buttons are small... i wish it had an fm radio and wish it was data capable... and to top it off if it had voice dialling it wud be a gud fone...
be cautious when you buy
It may be my fault that I am not inspect it carefully when I bought D500. My Phone slide is loose and cannot be fixed. It is quite disappointed.
d500-video player?!
hi all!i know that d500 can record clips in mpeg4 video format,but i want to know whether d500 can play e.g. downloaded clips in this format mpeg4?

Samsung SGH-D500 overated
The time came for my contract renewal & a new phone...I've been really happy with my nokia 6230..but after reading all the '5 star' reviews on the net on the d500 i thought maybe its time to steer away from nokia. The phone turned up looking very sexy indeed! First thing i noticed is that the quality felt pretty cheap..ok..give it a chance i thought. Then i started to take photos. considering its a 1.3megapix cam..I am highly disappointed, pics are very grainy & with the flash..very washed out + a massive 3 sec delay!! There is no extra mem card..v dissapointing again! a friend tried to send me a business card..guess what? phone doesn't support it?? what the!! The battery life is awful, its lasting about a day & thats it! I regularly use alarm clock on my phone and this phone has some awful alarms and you cant add a diff one?? why?? no voice dialing..but not essential. the built in speaker is rubbish & it comes with an extra plug in one which is equally as bad except louder! There are so many things samsung could have done to this phone to make it a winner..shame. good things...it looks good, phone works well but sounds a bit tin'y, bluetooth works well and the screen is fantastic. overall I am disappointed & will continue using my nokia & this well be just a spare in my glovebox. I think if your used to a nokia..then you wont be impressed. but then again..prob the best phone samsung have brought out.
Nice phone
D500 is a nice phone. It has all the good features of a latest mobile phone. However, its vibration produces much noise. It would have been great if it had included FM RADIO.
definitely worth the price
Samsung D500 is probably the nicest phone out there, well in my opinion, first samsung phone with bluetooth ( and you thought bluetooth was only for motorolas ) well anyway i was jealous that a couple of my friends had the slider phone for tmobile so i was looking for a better one, and I found the d500, but for how much? $40!!! no lie, only thing it took about 3 weeks for me,
but 3 weeks+$40 is well worth waiting for.. than paying $500+
the camera quality is really nice 1.3 megapixels and the speakerphone is loud unlike my old v600, and comparing motorola to samsung, the samsung doesn't lag AT ALL, so a much smoother use. I could talk about this phone all day but u guys probably all kno about it too.
