Inspire

Mar 24, 2011 by vegaslightsss

Awesome phone,I have had almost everything,Aria,Captivate,2g,3g,3gs,iphone 4,Fuze,Treo 600,650,750,Blackjack 1+2,well you get the Idea. I was mad because I didnt get the Atrix because the ATT store was out of them but now I am happy i didnt get it after hearing about construction, overpriced dock solution ect.
OK,The Inspire,Awesome Display but the Battery pays the price,Everywhere I go I am looking for somewhere to plug in Home,Car,Work, whatever, going to buy a spare battery and just swap it during the day to get rid of the stress, the phone is so cool I will get over it. Dissapointed that the only Video out is the DLNA wireless and no Micro USB to HDMI will ever happen. The phone was also way Slow 4g Speed from what I was expecting. I rooted mine right after it came out, without the help of a gure with the Handle "attn1" on the IRC xda-developer site It would be bricked most likely. I am running a Custom rom that is close to the ATT rom but from the European version the "HTC DESIRE 4G" it is called the "Revolution Rom" you have to ROOT the phone by creating a "Gold Card" on a Micro SD and placing the New rom on it as well in order to accompish this. Now instead of 850kbps when the network is not busy I am getting 3280 download and 1686 upload speeds, this phone is fast, you just have to get past ATTs software lock that governs the speed you can access on their 4g Network. Once that is done ,this phone is untouchable. This also allows you to do the tethering without paying for it since their "big" plan is 2 gig with 10$ per additional gig used. I did over 100 gigs last month with the hotspot and my grandfathered 30.00 a month data plan. You can also take advantage of installing any android app you want without having to pay for apps through the market,So if you have a little time and ambition, you can config the Inspire (well now its a desire i guess) to be a Super Monster Smartphone, I Love it!! Inspired

Let me start off by saying I have had the following phones in the past 6 months: iPhone 3g & 3gs, bold 9700, bold 9000, samsung captivate, and blackberry torch. The Inspire BLOWS all of them out of the water. Finally found the perfect phone. Android OS blows iphone OS out of the water as well.

Pros:
2.2 Android
HTC sense
4.3 screen
Call quality
Swype (I had to Install)
Email sync
Android!
Camera quality is amazing

Cons:
Battery life (I knew this going in)
Battery door sucks
Sim door cover snapped in half on my 2nd day with the phone. Very unstable.. but i called HTC and they sent a replacement cover for free!

Overall, best phone on the AT&T market.

Excellent Android... Shortchanged By It's Network

The reviews on this device are great and I must agree. The phone is well designed, takes great pics, has great audio and stereo. The battery door, however, is a warranty claim waiting to happen.

The 4G speeds are non existent, however, IF you are blessed with a network connection, then the Inspire offers very respectible 3G speeds.

The Inspre 4D is an excellent Android and the battery life is decent. I'm not sure I will keep the device due to the network issues the carrier has experienced since I've received it.

HTC Inspire wins!

I cannot say enough good things about this phone! I was on the fence between a Motorola Atrix and this phone, I am very happy to report the Inspire wins! Ease of use, and very friendly to navigate right out of the box. The menus, via Android 2.2 Froyo are very easy to customize. The weight is perfect, slightly heavier than an iPhone 4, but that's not a negative for me...I like some substance to my phones personally. AT&T has a winner with this phone! The large capacitive screen is a joy to scroll around on. I particularly love HTC's widgets.

All pros, and one very minor con...
The battery panel is a bit tricky to remove and replace, but that is a very minor gripe when balancing all of the good things this phone offers. Highly recommended!

HTC Inspired!!!

I came from a T-Mobile MyTouch 4G to this phone as ATT will be buyin T-Mobile and I didn't want to be left behind. I wanted a phone comparable to what I had and I found it in the Inspire for a good price.
I looked at the Atrix and it felt like a toy. I wanted a phone that felt good and this one fit the bill. It is a good replacement for the MyTouch 4G I had

Pros
HTC Sense 2.0
Build Quality
Larger Screen

Cons
Upload speeds. ATT said that would be fixed
Small Battery. Should be at least 1500MAH
Battery Door

Great phone, a little buggy

Mar 14, 2011 by Chutoy

I have had this phone for about a week now and love it. I sell phones and I have had a bb 8900 curve, jailbroken iphone 3gs, and htc surround in the past year. This phone is the best out of them all. AT&T's service can be a little shotty where I live and have had problems with my iphone getting service(typical iphone), but my inspire hasn't dropped a call yet and I have service in places I didn't before.

Pro's:
The screen is beautiful and the camera looks great.
Love the interface
Call clarity, antenna strength
and pretty much everything else

Con's:
The one issue I have had is that if I run a live wallpaper the screen auto rotate will get locked sideways. I have seen that this is an issue and hopefully will be fixed soon. Not that big of a deal considering live wallpapers eat the battery up.

The battery life is isn't the greatest, but better than I expected.

The 4g speeds are a little faster then I was getting on my iphone, but not a lot.

I would highly recommend this phone to anyone looking to get android on AT&T, especially to get rid of that iphone. I was considering the atrix or this, but wasn't about to deal with motoblur...

Decent phone

Very nice phone. I've had it for only 2 days though. I am new to android scene.

I owned a Blackberry Pearl.. then the Bold for 2 years now this phone.

text messaging on the touch screen is actually not TOO bad.. i was afraid I would hate it.. but can get used to it quickly.

This phone's battery SUCKS. i had it on full 100% charge when I woke up... and after some decent usage (watching few videos online... browsing.. facebook.. WIFI usage on all) it is down to 15% after 6 hours. and I only spoke on the phone for like 10minutes.

I have some apps that you can kill background applications with.. and I've killed most and am using power saving program.. my screen's brigthness has never gone above 50%.

Battery is a huge disappointment.
Make sure you carry your charger with you.. and also car charger.

But the phone itself is AWESOME. I am dual using this and my old BB Bold.. if my Inspire runs out of battery.. ill switch to my BB.

I have the unlimited data plan for the INSPIRE.. and when I switch to BB everything works except the BB Email and BB Messenger.

GREAT Phone

OK, so I should mention first are a few bits about the last few phones I have had/used. I am switching over to the Inspire 4G from the Blackberry Bold 9700, and before that I had the Bold 9000. The last touchscreen phone I had was a LG Vue, the touchscreen technology for which was "rough", to say the absolute, very least!
Anyhow, last weekend, I went to Best Buy to get the iPhone 3Gs as AT&T has been advertising like crazy the special $49.00 price (surely because both Apple AND AT&T are NEEDING to unload inventory as the release of an "iPhone 5" is no doubt just months away)~well, as I waited for a sales rep to free up, I browsed the selection that Best Buy had in regards to AT&T phones. It was then that I saw the HTC Inspire 4G, for $99.00. While it was $50 more than I had intended on spending for the iPhone, the specs looked quite superior.
So, I asked the rep his opinion and he said he switched phones every 30 days (as Best Buy DOES have a 30 return policy) and that, to date, that was the best phone he'd yet used. He recommended it over the 3Gs emphatically and, with that return policy, I went for it. Having NEVER used the android operating sustem, and not being a big fan of Symbian, I was admittedly hesitant...and then I tried it out...it was as if the Heavens opened, rays of sunlight came streamign through the clouds and everything on the planet, ALL AT ONCE, made sense to me!
For standardization, I will heretofor utilize the "Pros & Cons" layout.
PROS:
-SOLID build quality
-Amazing User Interface (UI)
-Spectacularly vibrant screen (colors & clarity)& big enough for movies
-Phenominal virtual keyboard with exceptional predictive software which "learns" your new words instantly
-Tremendous selection of Apps of ALL types, for ALL uses, at ALL prices
-Great camera/videocam w/2 LED flashes
-Infinitely customizable
-Social Networking consolidation and customization is unreal
-Battery Life (if managed smartly)

CONS:
-The name~"4G" S/B "3.5G"

Great Phone

I'm coming from the Captivate, which contrary to what some people have said, I think its great phone. I only upgraded because I was adding my wife, she took my Captivate and I took the Inspire, because the 2.2 and I liked the look. Amazon has this for 59.99 NEW I picked up my captivate for 0.01 from Amazon with free 2 day shipping and no tax, The manager at the AT&T store verified the 59.99 and met me half way, gave me 20.00 off the 99.99! So I got it for 79.99! even at 99.99 though this is a great deal. I actually comteplated the iPhone 3gs for 49.99

Pro's
Very Fast
Screen
2.2
Keyboard
Camera
Cal Quality
Vibrate (very strong)
Ringtones are loud
99.99

Con's
Speaker phone lousy
Weight (a bit hefty)

I'm very impressed with this awesome. I was split between this and the Blackberry Torch. I made the right choice!
