Motorola T720 (CDMA)

T720 C What more can you ask for?
I have had the T720 for about 4 months now, and I must say that the phone covers all needed ground. Voice dial, Color, Game & Ring tone downloads, and the standard features. IE: Vibrate, etc. The Sliver/Chrome finish make for an appealing look, and the flip factor speaks for itself. I have Verizon svc., and my phone works almost everywhere! Mountains, lakeside, and rural areas. Major cities....Flawless! This phone has some minor flaws, most of which are obvious upfront. The keypad is flat, therefore you have to press down a little bit harder than normal, which can get annoying for us speedy dialers. Some ringtones will play even after you answer the call. This is a NO-NO. I have swapped my phone twice with the same issue. It is very rare when it happens, and perfection is only a theory anyway. I would like to see a revised version of this phone with smaller dimensions and a more secure LCD screen. (Lint gets inside of it fairly easy.) I would also like a more user friendly menu, and a better phonebook. But these are mostly cosmetic and dont interfere with normal day-to day activities. Thumbs Up!
P.S. Verizon Wireless Rocks!! Seriously...

love it!! I had a LG TM-510, a Z-800 (yuk). But I wish I could add some of the features that these phones have. The screen is bright & clear, with easy to use function keys. It would be nice to scroll through the phone book 1 page at a time (Z-800) and I wish it had the Audio Gain Control (AGC) like the LG did. Over all its a great phone. It has a sturdy holster, and the battery is not that bad. I did end up getting the extended battery and PC software, which make adding phone entries much easier.
Motorola T720--- Rated by Verizon Sales Rep
(Not quite 5 stars but much better than 4.5 stars, i give it 4.8 stars)
This is a really nice phone. The color display is large and easy to read with a really nice backlight. The exterior display is very easy to read at night. Buy this phone quick as it has a $100 Mail-In-Rebate through Motorola (you have to send in an old phone for the Rebate). However, make sure you get the phone with software version 1.2.22.19C as the older software version really, really sucks! The BREW (now called Get It Now!) is really nice and this phone has a huge memory to store a ton of apps (500 names and numbers). I currently have 9 apps on mine, about 120 phone numbers and have only used 2 out of 5 bars of the memory meter. It has a nice, expensive feel to the phone and the faceplates change very easy.
Negatives? Not many but the volume could be louder in the earpiece (the ringer is plenty loud enough) and the battery life on the standard battery is pretty poor (color screen phones always suck when it comes to the battery life) I recommend the extended life battery. Other than that the phone is world-class. It has great reception and more importantly, shows great skill at holding onto the existing signal before switching to another signal, reducing droped calls. Backed by Verizon's network this phone rocks!!!!!!!
If you want to know about the phone, listen to a guy that works for VZW and owns it!!!
The Motorola T-720 was the first full color screen phone and flagship Get It Now phone for Verizon Wireless. I promise you, the only other phone here at my call center that may be in more or equal demand is the Audiovox 9500. I have been reading a lot of critics down the 720 for very minor problems in my opinion. If these readers are OK with the older LG-510 and any other phone that we have that can not compare to the 720 in features, signal, and user friendliness, so be it. However, Motorola has been a landmark company for sometime now and they still amaze me with their products as they release them. The battery life on a color phone is NOT supposed to last as long as a low quality phone like the Kyocera 2135!! So please stop asking for a miracle! The only thing I wish that the phone had to offer from the beginning thats causing the score to not be a perfect 5 is a speaker phone, although the accessory that they sell for the phone is cool, and the only request now would be for a built in feature to keep pictures from the Get It Now apps as wallpaper. Of course, the apps are partly responsible but it is awesome that Pictavision will eliminate this problem within a couple of months. For anyone thinking about purchasing this phone, the investment is well worth it, even with the phones that we will be offering soon, just because of the MOTOROLA brand. We offer a great selection of phones, and they all are backed by the company 100%. But for a name that you know in wireless manufacturing, this would not be a bad buy.

Sweet gadget but very poor quality phone, drops calls, freezes, just sometimes goes to a continous hushing sound...
No recommend here...
First Generations Problems
Cool Factor this phone is a 5 out of 5, and I am a senior in College so thats that should be important right?
Well not if your cell phone is your only phone, and you want to use it in your car. I don't have a loud card I can usually here people quite fine even if I am doing ninety on the express (my preffered speed), but with this phone its like trying to understand a whisper on the other end.
Other Cons:
Battery life is horrid if this is your only phone you must wait until they improve it.
Constantly switiching to analog, signal was not as strong as my V60i.
Pros:
Very cool phone not yet pratical.
Games and Ringtones are awesome for a phone.
Overall:
I went back to my v60i I even had the phone for over the 15 day period (I had it for a month so I gave it a fair chance.)
I had the v60c and the battery life was so, so and the attenna was garbage but they improved the battery life and the attenna on the v60i, I am recommend those of you who want the t720 to suck it up and wait for there improvement model, for I am sure there is going to be a t720i in the near future do address these problems, for now get the v60i its still the best (maybe not the most feature rich phone, but the best,) flip phone out there
The T720 a nice cell phone w/ promise
I have owned the T720 for 8 months. If you are looking for stylish cell phone and having multiple ring tones on your handset, then the T720 is the phone for you. The Get It Now applications are fine. The look and design of the T720 are eye catchers. The changeable face plates and the color screen are nice additions. The Audio quality is the best out of any cell phone I have owned. Now for the down side. The battery life is not the best even (unless you purchase a ext like battery), there are some software glitches from time to time. The phone book is not user friendly, nor are the speed dial options. The fact that only 30 #s in the phone book can be used for voice dialing compared to the storage compacity of the phone book, doesn't measure up. The reception is poor. I had to extend my antenna virtually every time. It has promise, but Motorola may have rushed it. I hope the T725 will resolve these issues.
Good, yes. Best for the price?...
Ok, I have owned this phone and it is a pretty good phone, but for $320+ (without plan) it is not worth the money. The phone has a lot of features, compact, good reception and doesn't have any software problems. What I didn't like was the price, it feels cheap when holding it (too much plastic), squeeks sometimes when opening and pressing the buttons when playing games and the sound quality isn't very good (as in ringers/alerts).
PROS:
Get It Now makes it customizable
Color
Good reception
Compact
CONS:
Price
Feels cheap
256 colors (LG VX4400 has 65k)
Squeeky
Turns off when battery is high at times
If you are looking for a phone, I suggest to look at the LG VX4400. If you compare the 4400 to the T720, I think you will go for the 4400.

this is a nice looking phone, but thats about it. i would not reccomend this phone to anyone. it's a little slow in the "brain"
Verizon Isn't So Hot
I have a T720 CDMA phone with Verizon. I think the phone is great, but there are a few things that get on my nerves.
First, the volume controls are convienently located on the side of the phone where I like to hold it. One day I noticed that my father's voice kept getting softer and softer...well, you get the point.
Secondly, Verizon blocks all downloading from the internet which defeats the purpose of paying the $6.99 fee for the browser service, but if you're with another company, the phone connects fast and has a great quality screen.
Third, polyphonic ringtones aren't very loud on this phone. (Did I mention if you get Verizon, you have to pay $2 a pop for ringtones or risk messing up your phone by downloading the GAGIN "Getting Around Get It Now" program via cable)
Lastly, the camera attatchment doesn't work with CDMA (BREW network) model...so if that's what you want, avoid Verizon like the plague.
Now, for the good stuff...
The phone gets great reception (even in the middle of no where).
Flip phones are nice in general because they don't have to have a keypad lock and it's very hard to purse dial.
The acessories for this phone rock! Light up keypads, antennas, batteries...
It comes with standard vibrating options and you don't have to buy a special battery...
VOICE DIAL is AWESOME! Quick and easy. Press one button, say the name, and it dials...
Phone book has cute little icons for home, work, cell, main, etc.
Endless speed dail options (if voice dial is too hard for you).
Displays caller ID on the outside of the phone, so you know who's calling without flipping the phone open.
Has different tone settings for Inbox (email), text messages, new voicemails, new calls, etc.
Polyphonic capability is great! I have Giligans Island and Pink Panther on my phone...
You can play games like Tetris and Majjong on the phone, but I've never bothered to try it.
Great phone...don't choose Verizon...T-Mobile rocks.
