LG C2000
Average Ratings
Not so hot
Notice most of the good reviews here are from owners who've not had this phone very long. I've had mine for just almost a year now.
Cons:
1. Very low talk time, battery needs recharging very quickly.
2. Audio signal is hit & miss, on the receiving end the volume goes up & down. Sometimes you simply cannot get the volume to come up loud enough to hear very well, other times it comes through so loud it sends you running for the button. It's just very eratic.
3. Audio signal you send out to others: I get constant complaints from both land line users and other cell phone users, that my phone's sound is very "breathy" with lots of hisses, and to please hold the phone further away. Finding just the right distance in which to speak into it is also eratic.
4. The built in ringtones are fairly lack luster.
Pros:
1.Camera is pretty good I think.
2. I guess it's cute?
3. It's not expensive.
Conclusion - because of the audio issues & low talk time, I find this a frustrating phone to use and I can't wait to reach my upgrade date with my carrier. I don't recommned this phone.
Phone is fine if you have bionic ears
I've had this phone roughly 1 month (upgraded from Samsung X427 and am now missing it) and the first thing I noticed right away was the handset volume being too low. It sounds like the other person is very far away and speaking quietly. Even with the volume cranked all the way up to 5 (the max), I still cannot hear very well.
I've also been having problems with making phonecalls and not hearing any ringing or hearing the person pick up on the other end, although they hear me (and the timer starts so I know a connection's been made). However this could be a defective phone in that aspect and would merit me an exchange (same model, unfortunately).
PROS:
Easy to use menu system - very colorful and offers preference of layout options
Good size and shape - not too wide, not too dainty, hinge does not plunge into side of face as I briefly experienced with the Moto RAZR V3 before sending it back...
Address book allows you to list multiple numbers under one person's name (i.e. work, home, mobile, etc.).
Ringer volume is loud
CONS:
Hard to hear during conversation
Volume buttons on side are hard to get to quickly and push in order to silence a call. They are very small and don't stick out far enough from the phone.
Outside window is hard to read without having to hit a button to light the LED up again. Not too big of a deal, but you don't have to do that with many other phones...
Reception isn't so great (I live in the metro Detroit area)
Light that flashes green or red is on bottom of the phone where you can't see it (I just discovered it for the first time the other day).
Speakerphone sound comes out the back of the phone. I am not big into speakerphones so I don't know if this location is common among other phones.
Can't put someone on hold right away when going back and forth between calls; have to go through the options menu to do so which takes longer than it should.
Not a very good phone
I got for free from Cingular, so you get what you pay for.
Pros: Good battery life
Cons: I've had two of these in 7 months, because I had to replace them under warranty with Cingular. This LG c2000 has has given me horrible reception, low volume sometimes in the earpiece for no reason, sometimes takes longer than a few minutes after turning it on to get a connection, and now, again: is rejecting my SIM card. Keeps saying "Insert card".
A rep at a Cingular store told me that this type of LG eventually rejects the more "modern" SIM cards, and that this has been happening with most LGs.
I will never get another LG phone again. Cingular is shipping me a different brand today, since my LG has not worked properly in 4 days, thanks to this SIM card rejection.
it's aight
it's an OK phone... i'm always dropping my phone (and it's still in great condition) but i've never dropped any calls.
Pro's- no dropped calls
plenty of room for contacts
very tough
extremely easy to use (even blonde's
can do it)
pretty good battery life
Con's- not so beautiful to the eyes
non changeable cover
external screen can't be changed!!!(thats a big one 4 me)
can't hold many pictures at all.ugh
omg! no flash!
sometimes camera gets fuzzy
only holds like 5 purchased ringtones
BAD
(cingular, Seattle, WA) I used to have the LG1400. That phone was amazing... until i dropped it for good and i had to have it replaced. The company sent me the c2000 and i am absolutely upset with this phone.
pros: sleek looking, good quality camera, good battery life
Cons: HORRIBLE RECEPTION!!!!, no flash for cam, can't change front screen, cant take pics from front screen,
With my other phone, I had reception everywhere. Now i don't get recpetion in my room, at school, or anywhere for that matter. I'm so upset that they would replace the L1400 with this crap.
Awesome Phone
Ok So far I have seen alot of Positive comments about this cell phone. There are a few comments that are way off base, but they are entitled to their comments. I have had the LG C1300 cell for well over a year and if you wanna complain about how hard it is to hear the ringtone and the volume of it then you need to get that one and check it out. As for the LG C2000? The volume and ringtones are easy to hear. You have to be deaf to not hear the ringtones. I find it easier to hear on this cell than on my previous one. Overall I think this is an excellent phone.
The Camera part has been a blast to have. Been taking pictures of everything. Big Boys and ther toys ya know?
So far So good
I got this phone a few days ago and so far I like it over all, The phone I had before this one was the moto V551, I like that phone just had a lot of trouble with it like shutting off not charging and stuff like that they replaced it many time but it was all ways something so they sent me the LG C 2000, the only thins on this one I don't like are, the graphics or not as good as my last phone was, this one I seem to have trouble sending text messages it was easer on the V551 to send and receive, it's just going to take some time to get use to, the memory for pictures is not a lot, but I think it takes better pic's the talk time is not a lot but I can deal with that, it has a nice loud ring, I was say yes to this phone, or anyone looking for a camera phone, and this one gets better signal then the V551 , But I still have not found how to work the specker phone
Come On' People Get Real
First off, this phone is not worth its price. It sometimes decides to send pictures stored in my gallery to my email by its self, therefore I had to delete all my pictures and my email that I saved to my phone. The OK, middle button is also the button to access the internet. Not a good thing when you pay by usage. There is also no back button when you go into a menu except for the C button. Why donât they just make it like every other phone where the back button is either the top let or right top key? The speaker phone is crap. Usually the person Iâm talking to canât hear me. Sure is nothing like The Motorola v551 where they always hear me. And those who complain about the caller volume or the ringer volume, hereâs an idea, its called turn it up. This phone is rated for hearing aids. It sometimes hurts my ears.
But I must say, it is easy to open. I am only being critical on the things that really matter. Not how many ringtones it can hold, not like you can use them all at the same time anyway.
LG - Needs much improvement !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I have had this phone for about 2 weeks. I am still getting used to it. It is light in the hand and feels cheap. One of my friends commented that it looked like a toy phone that would have candy in it. I agree. I traded a Motorola Black RAZR in for this thing because the RAZR sucks. I am inclined to say that this phone is basically a cheap phone. You get what you pay for. I think this thing sells for $60.00. I have already ordered a Nokia 6170 (hopefully it isn't crappy). I took the battery out yesterday to see what kind of sim card I have and not the thing turns of on its own. That sucks. Sometimes the speakerphone doesn't turn off when you hang up a call so you can hear clicks when you push buttons. All in all I feel the phone is cheap and not very exciting at all. As soon as my Nokia comes in this one is going on sale in EBAY.
PROS- Cheap (price wise).
- Speaker phone is o.k. (volume wise).
CONS- Cheap (manufacturing wise).
- Speaker phone does not always hang up.
- Crappy graphics.
- Crappy ringtones.
- Turns off on its own.
- Can only add 5 recipients to one text message. (RAZR could send 25 per message).
- Looks like a toy instaed of a real phone.
- Poor reception.(I lose reception in alot of places the RAZR had it).
LG aint for me- Going back to good ole NOKIA. Hopefully they don't let me down too.
Cingular- San Antonio, TX.
Decent Little Phone
I've had the phone for about 2 months and it's definitely got it's good and bad qualities.
Good:
Camera is surprisingly good for a phone at this price point.
Put-together really well, seems pretty sturdy.
Decent reception
Loud ringer for the pre-loaded ring tones. "Manekin" played at the highest volume will make your ears bleed!
Bad (the bads are REALLY bad):
Lousy Memory: One downloaded ring tone and 8 pictures saved from the camera, and I am out of memory. LAME.
You can barely hear downloaded ringtones played on the highest setting.
Key layout: Does there really need to be two different buttons to activate the camera, almost side-by-side?
Can't set ringtones to each contact. You ave to use the same tone for everyone.
